  1. Can another event(s) hold a World Northern Soul Dance Championship: so we will have many World champions? In the old days I'm pretty sure Boxing had just the one champion at a time, in all of the different weights. Nowadays there's the WBC, WBA, IBF and the WBO, If another promoter felt the need then why not. Up against the Blackpool Tower Ballroom that's possibly hosted hundreds of dance competitions over the years.
  2. Why is the World Series called the World Series when only US teams are involved.? That's always puzzled me. The makers of Britain's got talent go the opposite way, when they could call their show The Worlds got talent because quite a few of their acts are international but they opt for BGT.
  3. Baz, with more than 3,350 views, this has to be a record hasn't it.
  4. This story reminded me of the first time I heard The Mystiques was at Grumpys. I can't remember who played it but maybe on Saturday?
  5. Craig Hutchinson just told me a story when Lenny & Jim Tennant was double decking and Jim set him on fire. and then announced Lenny's on fire tonight. He assures me it's a true story so Baz you better have a fire extinguisher near the stage just in case. lol

  12. Hi All, Just the one rare'un today and what a belter it is Roosevelt Matthews with Billy Ball & the Upsetters ~ "You got me diggin' you" bw "Tighten up" ~ King Promo £500.00 ****SOLD**** The vinyl has a dull look with hardly any shine, Tighten up is a bit better however both sides play great with no problems at all. I've reflected this in the lower asking price. The labels look okay, 2 X's on Tighten Up side, slight ringwear on Diggin' side (see pics) Postage, Special next day delivery £8.00 (Insured for up to £500) Thanks for looking. Bob
  13. Phil that's a great list of records there but for me you've left off the best one. Hank Hodge, why! have you sold it on, if not then do you want to.😀
  14. I have a VG++ copy on Twinight ,clean labels if your interested PM me.
  15. Troggs Allnighter Farnworth Nr Bolton the night The Torch closed down. 100's of soulies made their way up the M6 from Stoke. Troggs was just a small basement club that held around 125 tops with loads queuing outside trying to get in. Alan Day came up and did a set for us. Kev Roberts had his sales box stolen. The night was immortalised in Kev's book as one of the top 5 worst allnighters of all time, however something good came from the club before that disastrous night, although we didn't realise it at the time a young Richard Searling made his DJ'ing debut there spinning top records he'd just brought back from the US.
  16. Sorry Dobber I was just coming clean on my earlier comment
  17. Have you checked out saracenssoul
  18. I know one seller always lists his records way to high as if to say these are my personal collection if you're interested in any of them then you'll have to pay over the odds , the other sellers don't mind because it makes their sales look like a bargain.
  19. I'm pretty sure not all of them are from Tim's collection, if any.

Mick, I always remember Pete Hollander dj'ing at the wonderful Alvaston Hall, Crewe, in fact I think he was one of the promoters there, I could be wrong with that but I definitely remember this one from The Fantastic 4 was one of his big plays there.
  23. Modern soul rare groove classic 12" rarity Kareem "Never give up on love" Exploding Plastic Records NM £85.00 (Reduced from £150) *****SOLD***** Considered one of the modern soul must haves mainly because of the Radio Mix that samples Ronn Matlock's "I can't forget about you" giving the record that rare groove feel. Released only in the UK in 1997, this is NM vinyl, the sleeve has some slight wear (see pics) for sleeve condition. I can accept pay pal but as friends & family please to avoid the fees if possible or add 4% to cover the fees. or Bank Transfer Postage Rates 1st class signed for is £5.25 for the 12" single I'm sorry but it's UK only on this one Thanks for looking Bob
