  1. First one sounds like it's had the Pinky and Perky treatment , the vocal's definitely been messed with to these ears.
  2. Click on the 'cog' top-right of the post .
  3. At last they've learnt that NS didn't cease to be when the Casino closed ...
  4. Hard not to form an opinion having read the endless drivel posted here on SS about the subject ...
  5. I imagine it must have been like sitting on your sofas getting all excited by faded beer-blunted memories of a gig they attended forty years ago , by watching a cheap DVD of a lame modern 'tribute' act having a go at covering songs by a band they are too young to have ever seen live themselves. In other words excrutiatingly sad ... needless to say I neither listened to or watched either debacle.
  6. Could be the basis for a good door policy first question ... "Did you watch and enjoy the Prom ?" If answer be "Yes" then it's a resounding "best you bugger off somewhere else then" ...
  7. So goes to a local night , spins twenty £3000 records in a spot and ruins them all with one play .................
  8. I think you'll find that most of the records out there from the 60s and 70s spent their 'early lives' being played on record players just like that or simple Dansettes , were 'stored' in boxes without sleeves in teenagers bedrooms and generally abused. They were 40c cheap plastic throwaway items essentially , not something that required kid gloves and treating like a piece of precious chinese porcelain.
  9. Teddie Morrow - Peace , Love and Togetherness ... ? Just a tune that popped out in a Discogs search , no soundclip online unfortunately .
  10. 60 for sale on Discogs ... https://www.discogs.com/sell/release/1104159?ev=rb
  11. I have a tape of a Sunset Radio Show from '90-91 , with Richard and Kev Roberts and the interview with Tim Brown about the first few thousand pound plus records , it's here on a previous post.
  12. Ernie Banks not Lee , written by Phil Moore III.
  13. Well I guess I was wrong yesterday ... at least as far as seeing three Spitfires passing by together ... Another selection of distant visitors this afternoon , including the beautiful Q-YP , the last flying Blenheim ...
  14. Now there's something you don't see every day ...
  15. Overtaped , box scribbled on ... I'd be surprised if it sells at all ...
  16. One assumes Auntie Beeb did the right thing regarding artists , writers etc , or did they conveniently bypass all that by using different artists and arrangements to produce pastiches ...
  17. Just started on the long awaited new adventures of Raylan Givens in "Justified : City Primeval" and well worth the wait it was too ... And the soundtrack has some very nice unexpected treats running through it ... https://www.tune-list.com/justified-city-primeval-soundtrack-music/#music_episode1
  18. I'm sticking the whole affair in the same box with the Jubilee NS float ... and burying it in the far corner of the garden hopefully never to be seen again. One word sums it all up for me ... Embarrassing.
  19. It's neither vitriol or hate , it's a series of replies to a question , most of which were exactly as the OP admits he was expecting , i.e. negative ... If you already know the answer to a question why bother asking it in the first place. What with this , the cruise thread and the Proms debacle dominating the forum lately I can fully understand the mass exodus to FB that has occurred and continues ...
  20. Just pleased to see the review clearly state that it was about a scene that flourished from the late 60's to the early 80's ..................... that means it was bugger all to do with the scene that I know starting in '81 at the Wirrina , through Stafford and the 100 Club on to today ...
  21. Let's hope they don't gatecrash this evenings shindig and get slung out for sprinkling orange coloured talc everywhere ... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-66207576
  22. Here's a close-up of this week's star attraction as far as solar imaging is concerned ... you can fit about half a dozen Earths in this one sunspot , each of the small convection cells is about the size of France ...
