The Furys - Mack Iv
Is that the same Tony Allen who did the original version of night owl?

Northern Soul Fist Logo
I think Lambretta clothing copyrighted the name but were unable to stop scooter clubs using it on T-shirts etc, providing they had been using it for a certain time.

Memorabilia Found In My Loft
Still got a couple of 'em, don't smoke them anymore though, makes me feel sick apart from them making me look a proper d*ck head.

Memorabilia Found In My Loft
You just showed the front or the back, Mrs Woods never checked. Always intended to get the other half back from the person I'd lent it to, always seemed to forget though.

Memorabilia Found In My Loft
Ha Ha, no, just the trousers.

Memorabilia Found In My Loft
They did to me. Kept all my memberships though, unfortunately not got a Wigan one, I was forever ripping them in two to give half to someone who hadn't got one.

Memorabilia Found In My Loft
Poured petrol on mine & put a match to 'em, about 1980. I think they represented everything that was wrong with the scene.

Well Done, Royal Mail, A Perfect Break
When I was selling a lot of stuff on eBay a few years ago I got to know the woman in the PO quite well and she told me not to write fragile on anything as it made it a target.

Sticking A Label Back On?
I've used Pritt on a styrene record, worked fine. If the label's completely off there should be no problem spreading it out evenly without lumps.

You Belong To Me - Earl Gaines
First heard this on a tape Dave Alcock gave me but it was under the wrong title so he must have had the same miss press as you, probably didn't know what it was really called though.

You Belong To Me - Earl Gaines
Is it lp only or am I thinking of something else? Can't check at the moment, there's a load of other stuff on top of my lp boxes.

Wasn't Nabay a vanity record?

Anyone Collect 78's ?
I inherited loads when my dad died, sold most of 'em but kept some Louis Jordans, Lord Beginner & Hot Lips Page's version of St James Infirmery.

Pioneers Of Northern Soul On The Radio Back Then
I read somewhere that Mike Cotton recorded his version at Mike Raven's suggestion. He may have played Beau Dollar prior to this.

Record Storage Bookcases - Looking For Ideas/suggestions?
My wifes mate gave her a pine bookcase when she moved house, we didn't really need it so I decided to turn it into a record cabinet. I removed the shelves with the help of a car jack then put them back with better spacing plus an extra one. I've just finished making the doors, just got to stain them to match now.

So Who Was The First White Act 'signed' To Motown
Yeah, I think her real name was Eileen Ryan. It was when Berry Gordy was trying to break into films and they released a soundtrack to a musical.

Superlatives - I Still Love You
Just seen this on EBay, I thought this was a boot with the narrow run out & 2.01 running time. Not 100per cent sure though. I wouldn't pay £65 for it anyway.

Shelleys Longton
Got talking to Jimmy Pursey, he reckoned he'd been to the Casino a couple of times.

Where was Romeo & Juliets, did thet used to be the Steam Machine? I went an alldayer there & Gary Fulcher got beat up by a bouncer, had to go the cop shop as a witness & Sham 69 were in there. Got arrested while playing at the Vicky Hall, think they broke into a kiosk to steal some chewing gum.

What a dump the Apollo was, used to knock on the door & a little hatch opened, if you wern't the police the door would open & they'd let you in.

The First Record That Got You Hooked ?
I sold most of my dads 78's when he died but kept all his Louis Jordan's, Hot Lips Page (St James Infirmary) & Lord beginner (Victory Test Match). Not sure if I've got Minnie The Moocher, I would have kept it if it was there. It was fascinating to see all the sleeves advertising long gone record shops.

Yeah, it was Henry, he was a great landlord, don't think anyone else would have put up with us lot like he did. He did do a good impersonation of a miserable tw!t though.

Dave Bell tried a couple of re-union do's about 12 years ago, the first one was great but the next 2 didn't get many in. On hot summer nights when the window was open you'd be sitting there & the landlord's horse would stick his head through the window, right next to your head. Didn't half sh!t you up.

It started in 77, every Monday with Dave Bell & Billy 2sheds playing northern & Phil Oliver playing jazz funk. It then moved to once a month on Fridays (same night as the Wigan oldies) with Dave Bell, Nick Marshall & Chris Savory, Beggsy & Duncan took over from them. It was a great pub, sadly it's been turned into flats now.
