Yes, gold of my life! BTW, I had some contact with E. Cole 4 years ago and he told me he had an unreleased track called 'Am I imposing'. A couple of weeks later I got a tape with the tune and I thought wow. what a tune! I'm not taking credit for it's release, but I told him to put it on a 45!

Is it really? Would love to hear it, hint, hint I know he released a different take with strings and piano...it's ok, reminds me a bit of Dexy's...

That's easy to answer; where is the media to present this kind of music? Nowhere, especially when it comes to Norway. Just ask yourself, where did you get into this music? That's why my "mission" is to spread the lovely world of soul. And as a teacher at a high school I have no idea of how many CD's I've made for my students over the years. Here is a nice story from last week; Every year the third grade puts up a play as a final for their last year at school, and all the parents other students are invited. This year they had a play called "Bikubesong" (don't know how to translate it ) by a Norwegian writer called Frode Grytten. The play includes 6 short stories and one of them is called "Newcastle". This is a story about a young mod living in a small town in Norway. He hates all the other people who have no idea of how to dress right or what's good music. The reason it's called Newcastle is because the only way to get the right music (rare soul) is to order vinyl from across the ocean. At the play we see that he gets a record from the postman, and then he puts it on the turntable and start dancing to Sam Dees "I'm lonely for you baby" So, to the point, the next day I had a lot of students asking me; "what was that tune he played yesterday Tommy"? It was soooooo good, I need it!

GREAT record that should be cheap and easy to get! 'I'm a good guy' has been one of my favourite spins for the last two years.

BTW, are all copies white? Mine is, but I got other stuff on the label that are blue...

It was him who played it to me so that I could get a copy before everybody else

Great feature Dave! It really impresses me when people do this kind of work. It's so important for the future to get the history of labels artists etc.

I don't want to start a big debate on bootlegging, and I agree with Sebastian if it's an only MP3 track or CD track, go ahead. But if it's ok to make a carving out of the downloaded mp3, then it shouldn't be a problem for everyone who wants it. Why bother to make 500 copies, everyone can make one their self.

I think the "hype" started on the "funk forum" a couple of months ago when Jason posted a link to their myspace site. Everybody there was excited including me. Don't know how James Trouble got it??? Do you play CDs now?

Please don't mix this with Duffy (which is crap compared to this!), this is another world IMO. I don't agree with the northern title, but I think it's a really, really good record with a lot of influence of earlier stuff, but "tailor made"? NOPE! I'm looking forward to the release!
