I did the 'please listen to this etc' recently at the Graham Slater Memorial Night when I played the Limelights ' Don't leave me baby' to an empty dancefloor. A few weeks later I was at Ramsbottom as a punter when a couple of guys came up and asked what the record was I played as they really enjoyed hearing it ( for the first time). I thought 'job done'. Tony Banks used to DJ at Earlheaton Youth Club when I went there in '66 and '67. Good times were had at Morley Town Hall where Geno Washington and the Ram Jam band seemed to be on every other week!!!

First one I ever saw was when Dave Godin covered the Ad Libs - Nothing worse than being alone - he just put plain white labels over both sides ( must have put play side or something on one of the labels, but I can't remember!) Just given it a listen - forgot how good it sounds. Julian
