Get the video to me and I'll see what i can do! On your other point...often hear the term that Northern died in the 80's...what a load of crap that is! I attended Rotherham Clifton Hall, Stafford TOTW, Leicester Oddfellows, Bradford Queens Hall and Hinckley to name but a few...all well attended brilliant allnighters! Do realise how special the Casino, Wheel and Torch were but I was too young...not getting into the scene until '82...but certainly the above mentioned venues deserve to be recognised as much as the former...particularly Dave Thorley's Stafford with it's fantastic music policy (which has never been surpassed IMHO) which discovered so many awesome tunes...most of which I'm still trying to collect to this day!

Welcome mate...nice to see it looking more like a real soul video rather than a film from the olden days...god I was only 20...how young are we all on this? lol This and Stafford got me hooked for life...not sure if that's a good thing or not...certainly shaped my outlook on life forever!

Yes Leicester...'tis confusing... was called (still is to my knowledge) the Nottingham Oddfellows Club ( Nottingham Imperial Order of Oddfellows Club and Institute to be precise) at Humberstone Gate, Leicester.

And of course the dance competition, raffle results from the Rev Tony Clayton and Ally cutting the anniversary cake!

I've been playing with the Nottingham Oddfellows anniversary Video....getting rid of black borders, altering colour, contrast, brightness etc. Obviously you can only work on what you start with but relatively pleased with the results, not least cos I was there and I'm fleetingly on the video Did have a copy of original VHS which I paid my cash to CESC back in the day, but I lent to somebody back in the late 80's never to be seen again. So the orig video is from a DVD copy so not sure if it would be better from the original VHS but if you have a better/clearer version and can get it to me let me know! Hopefully brought it back to life a little will upload some bits to youtube at some point but have attached a few stills to show before and after.

Didn't realise it was already on 4od Mike...all that work for nothing lol Anyway glad everyone's able to see it in it's original format. How young we were!

Just been getting some old footage off some old VHS tapes of mine and been editing them to get the resolution, colours, contrast etc better than the other versions on the tube...I'm quite pleased with the outcome. Absolutely! Got one off the guy 2 years ago for £462...no regrets as I never dreamed I would ever be able to own a copy during the previous 2 decades so i'm happy!

My time was 1982 omwards...Stafford and Leicester and this cliche bollocks got jack sh*t to do with the scene! never did! bags and singlets just happeneed to be the fashion at the time in the 70's...not a unique northern thing? Am I right casino guys and gals?

Mr Anderson put an Yvonne Baker demo in my 100 record soulbowl pack back in '84 for £14....was p*ssed off as 2 weeks earlier 100 records were £11!

Usual format...my memories fading but hey it was 25 years ago! Seem to remember a Righteous brothers track....album track if memory serves correctly that Keb Darge used to play (think it was Keb..could possibly have been Guy but don't think so) at Top of The World Stafford. ...any ideas? Jonzy
