  1. he did in the end he 'caved in' he had to it was massive everywhere...
  2. think king sporty was on the list too my theory was/ is he was too worried, he couldnt have competed in the world of new releases he would have been way out of his depth far easier to let soussan feed him, its kind of funny he banned those records yet stood by soussans side when he played those dire remakes one after another after another....thank god for the mecca
  3. a lot of radio stations are playing this, it was radio 2 album of the week last week, i like name calling and 'i found you out' too. i thought the single may have charted this week i just checked and it didnt must be cheryl cole fans arnt biting on this

ian are you sure it was gay not saying your wrong but i have a gay friend who lived in san fransisco at that time, i asked him about that club first he said it was kind of out of the way from all the other clubs and when i asked him did he go his actual reply was i put my head through the door once but it was straight straight straight! and after all they did picture a woman in their logo, unless it was a drag queen, actually the more you look at it i think it IS a drag queen
  10. do play it its a great record forgotten for too long and so is 'reaching out for happiness' so your copy that came from canada was yellow?
  11. sorry ian i meant a is it a canadian press
  12. cant recall ever seeing a yellow copy, but somewhere in the back of my mind maybee i did see one, and it was canadian?, so does anyone know if it is canadian?
  13. nobody can complain about the postage though!
  14. but epic you couldnt move for millions of records in the 70s:thumbsup: i dont believe the 20th century copy is hard to find but despite what people say on here i dont think it sold well on pye i worked in a record shop at the time this was out thats where i know it from as far as i remember we never sold a copy, i dont recall hearing it on the radio or in any club, i also remember being on a night out in liverpool in the late 70s early 80s and the real thing wags were in comany and we all spoke about this record they expressed their dissapointment in it as we all agreed it was the best record they had made
  15. try finding a pye demo though, i looked all my life and only finally got one last year.
  16. mark this was the way this record was originally played at the mecca, i think the u.s single came in even before the album. i remember this arriving in graham warrs record shop in oasis late on a saturday afternoon i grabbed one and headed for the mecca but levine actually did have a copy but the funny thing was he had NO intention of playing it i badgered him all night till he caved in but he really didnt want to play it! got a fast u.k release so probibly not too many imports came in so it just seems like they are all english

  21. just reading through a pile of 'collectors soul magazines' that i may put on ebay tomorrow an interesting records for sale ad in one of them from around 1970 with prices in old money for younger members one new penny equaled 1 new penny:lol: very late in 1971 i remember as a kid putting a wanted ad in n.m.e for mitch ryder breakout, i had not one reply then about a week later a record arrived, not expecting anything i opened it and it was a shiny new 'breakout' u.k demo the guy said he was an ex dj and he didnt need it anymore and asked that i send any current chart hit of my choice, i dont know why but i sent him 'son of my father' chickory tip so i reakon i did well from the price in this ad:thumbsup:
