  9. there was a massive fight at blackpool mecca around 1972 like the wild west you somehow felt it was going to go off then it did, we were sat at a table and somehow the table ended up on top of me and those tables were heavy, there was chairs flying and everything, never saw another there after that, it was all love peace and harmony thereafter
  10. i remember years ago some stoke guys had the black fist with wigan casino rules o.k around it, the problem was the tattoo guy really didnt get it, he spelt wigan as wagan on all of them and they never realised till they got home

i was a city centre d j in liverpool for about a year in the late 70s it wasnt northern but disco and it was a gay club but we had nice records, but there were a fair few 'faces ' off the northern scene that passed through the doors does that count?
  12. the bee gees wernt disco in the u.k or the u.s to quote Judy Weinstein from the new york record pool 'then saturday night fever came along and all hell broke loose and it was the beginning of the end for disco....i mean the bee gees wernt disco'..... in the 70s and you wanted to hear good underground disco and the bee gees were on you f you were in the wrong club, i disco d.j ed in liverpool at that time and no bee gees records graced my turntable

  14. its true i was thinking that earlier its a lot of labels for a company that had no money, you heard it only once at wigan ,youd have heard it a lot at the mecca as for deek not satisfying demand i wrote to him in 76 and he wrote me back in april, i still have the letter, the reason he didnt was because of the crystal deal it began ....'as you know weve had problems with bootleggers in your country, therefore we no longer mail our products to anyone, however you may write to the crystal label, they are the distributers in your area'......... and i thought bootleggers? ive never seen a creative funk bootleg
