Rarest Tamla Motown Lp
I was waiting to hear from others. That may suggest that a lot if not all Woollies branches had stock of Motown LPs they sold off cheap. How many branches in late 60's x copies they had. Quite a lot i guess ROD

Rarest Tamla Motown Lp
Which Woollies RicTic? I definitely remember seeing multiple copies of Moniotors and Chris Clark in the Stockport branch. I bet Francis T remembers too. Around 68 or 69 maybe. ROD

Sunliners "all Alone" Goldern World
As a hopefully interesting aside I once smacked a member of the Sunliners. He attempted to "touch me up" in Bob Mays shopin Detroit back in 1979. First brush I put down to an accident, second time I was suspicious and on the third I smacked him one and Bob Mays intervened, which was qiute amusing as he was blind drunk at the time and he ended up on the floor too. I also bought about 30 copies of Sunliners off him for a couple of dollars each. ROD

Three Rarest Of The Rare Records For Sale
Nothing personal Pete. Just using your first name to be friendly as the wife says I must try to be more amicable and outgoing and lose my carefully cultivated cynical persona. And by his own admission Pinch is worse than me at attaching pics so you should tell him off too. And he was smoking behind the bike sheds. ROD

Three Rarest Of The Rare Records For Sale
To be fair Pete there are a lot of 45s on here at prices over £400 that don't have scans. I know he's been asked for it but some of us aren't very good at the technical side of things. Took me ages to scan a couple and attach them to my posts. ROD

Biggest Price Drop?

Seen All Those Signed Contracts Going Through
Wow. $103 with 4 days to go. I've got something similar here though it isn't signed. Thought it was a piece of tat. Am Fed of Musicians contract between Henry Cosby and Motown. For 3 hours work with Henry and various others inc Ashford, Jamerson,Coffey, Van Dyke. Includes names, addresses and social security numbers. In fact I've been drawing Earl's pension for the past two years! Henry got $170 for 3 hours and the rest got $85. For a nice offer I'd let this go. ROD

Biggest Price Drop?
Mr. Tag, Dave W. used to stay at Barry's when in Detroit. That's about as far as his involvement goes. Must have posted this tale a few times now relating how we tracked it down [very luckily] via surname. Now you can believe Flynny's tale, who as far as I know wasn't there, or you can believe me who suddenly ended up with loads of original copies and probably sold them to people on here at the time for around £70. Sure Mr. Cunliffe or "Grumpy fella" remember. ROD

Rare Records and Raucous Nights: Investigating Northern Soul -Salford 04 Nov
The film Centurion is actually very poor in the sense they did not recreate the weaponary correctly. That did occur to me when Bruce Willis took out Boudicea's chariot with an RPG. Soulgirl, I believe they had very short swords so it would have been a disappointment. ROD

Rare Records and Raucous Nights: Investigating Northern Soul -Salford 04 Nov
The Salford Uni thing sounds too much like navel-gazing. Thought the idea of life was to broaden one's horizons. Steve's presentation sounds fascinating to me. And rather topical as there are a couple of films out or due dealing with the period. Just watched "Centurion". Very enjoyable although the dance-off at the end was a bit disappointing. Them Picts couldn't dance for shit and Im sure Keb is just an aberration. From a historical point of view it's an exciting period where Rome had a presence in Britain till around 400AD leading into the mythical age of King Arthur. ROD

Rarest White Demo
Thanks for posting that Roger. I don't think you see this format at all compared to Festival or Hungry. I wonder if Dave Moore has it too, or anyone else? ROD

Rarest White Demo
A certain insouciance there Gilly Down the back of the sofa? You must take more care. Sticking to Detroit and Ric-Tic I dont think Laura Lee or "Festival Time" WDJs are particularly hard to find but Im racking my brains to remember if I've ever seen a WDJ of "Blueberry Hill"/"Im satisfied" ROD

Tony Damiels/ Gordon Berry

How Often Do You Look Through Your 45's
I usually look at mine whenever I add a 45 which is very rarely as Im unemployed. I'll put it in it's place and think that's filled a gaping hole and be quite pleased. If I look at them a few days later and all I can see is the other numerous gaping holes and feel it's a wasrte of time and they're all rubbish. ROD
