Biggest Price Drop?
Mr. Tag, Dave W. used to stay at Barry's when in Detroit. That's about as far as his involvement goes. Must have posted this tale a few times now relating how we tracked it down [very luckily] via surname. Now you can believe Flynny's tale, who as far as I know wasn't there, or you can believe me who suddenly ended up with loads of original copies and probably sold them to people on here at the time for around £70. Sure Mr. Cunliffe or "Grumpy fella" remember. ROD

Name You Last 5 Records
Thought I'd put mine up to draw attention to the first track which I didn't know at all, other than Im sure the flip "When a boy..." got spins years ago. if you like the more melodic Motown Northern [DJ DIVA DI?] it's real nice Joe Graves Debbie PARKWAY DJ [£34, got into a bidding war,the bastard!] https://www.raresoulman.co.uk/d/53238/GRAVES,_JOE [have a listen] Ray Barretto El Watusi UK COLUMBIA DJ [£18,a very early memory] Jimmy Delphs Almost KAREN [$1.99 West Coast blue copy] Amazers Without a warning THOMAS [$11.99, West Coast press] Dee Dee Warwick When love slips away UK MERCURY [£19.23] All "Evilbay", although no idea why it's referred to in that way as I doubt I would have got any cheaper on here.

Rare Records and Raucous Nights: Investigating Northern Soul -Salford 04 Nov
The film Centurion is actually very poor in the sense they did not recreate the weaponary correctly. That did occur to me when Bruce Willis took out Boudicea's chariot with an RPG. Soulgirl, I believe they had very short swords so it would have been a disappointment. ROD

Rare Records and Raucous Nights: Investigating Northern Soul -Salford 04 Nov
The Salford Uni thing sounds too much like navel-gazing. Thought the idea of life was to broaden one's horizons. Steve's presentation sounds fascinating to me. And rather topical as there are a couple of films out or due dealing with the period. Just watched "Centurion". Very enjoyable although the dance-off at the end was a bit disappointing. Them Picts couldn't dance for shit and Im sure Keb is just an aberration. From a historical point of view it's an exciting period where Rome had a presence in Britain till around 400AD leading into the mythical age of King Arthur. ROD

Rarest White Demo
Thanks for posting that Roger. I don't think you see this format at all compared to Festival or Hungry. I wonder if Dave Moore has it too, or anyone else? ROD

Rarest White Demo
A certain insouciance there Gilly Down the back of the sofa? You must take more care. Sticking to Detroit and Ric-Tic I dont think Laura Lee or "Festival Time" WDJs are particularly hard to find but Im racking my brains to remember if I've ever seen a WDJ of "Blueberry Hill"/"Im satisfied" ROD

How Often Do You Look Through Your 45's
I usually look at mine whenever I add a 45 which is very rarely as Im unemployed. I'll put it in it's place and think that's filled a gaping hole and be quite pleased. If I look at them a few days later and all I can see is the other numerous gaping holes and feel it's a wasrte of time and they're all rubbish. ROD

Biggest Price Drop?
If you look at post #60 you will see the story. As far as I know a US dealer did get there first and he knew Tim. Maybe Greg T. I know nowt about PhilD find. Dave found the copies by looking up Massingdale [odd name] in phone book and getting hold of a relative. Cousin I think. Did the same once with John Merlino and got his son. ROD

Should Debate Be Allowed On Sales Posts?
I think it's up to Big C how he goes about selling it, Pete. However his ad bumps the others downwards and as he first started selling this on here 6 months ago there's obviously some disconnection between what he wants and what he's been offered. Bottom line it seems like a waste of time again and I'd suggest he takes a different tack. Min bid? Ebay? Send to John? I think you should get involved where ads are misleading or unclear. Something like Ann Sexton [multicolored] should be 2nd issue [it wasn't a boot was it?]. Or where no gradings given. Saw an ad other day. one 45 said M-. The rest nothing. You don't know what you're buying in those instances without checking first. Massive reductions which aren't. Bargains at supposedly half price that are cracked! These are things that bug me but I understand that they won't matter to a lot of people. ROD

Cellar Full Of Motown Volume 4
Considering what is available a pretty poor effort. I thought there were others recently issued on striped Tamla or similar. There was talk of "Love starved heart" coming out. I may be confused but something like 5 releases for £15. The fact that they were mainly easy to get records on original seemed to have passed them by. I understand 2001's comments that they're aimed at the general Motown fan but as these recordings have been unearthed on the Northern scene it seems daft to ignore that. ROD

Cellar Full Of Motown Volume 4
What's the chances of vinyl releases? Gotta be around 40 they could bring out at 9.99 [same price as CD]. I think those would sell like no tomorrow. ROD
