  2. Isn't it TanGeers on OKEH? ROD
  3. What are you two on about? They've always turned up. Lots of copies knocking about IMO ROD
  4. Yes I can see that. Oldies at Tesco's, newies at Harrod's Food Hall and modern at Aldi. ROD
  5. You know how your wife asks does this outfit suit me and you can see the trap with the sharp spikes she's just dug for you. Well think of Simon's posts in the same way. ROD
  6. I listed it at £100 the other week and no takers. Popular two-stepper back in 90's so I guess not much use to your average Northern fan, like me!! ROD
  7. 8. Dimensions did have minor play back in early 70's. My copy is pale blue. Think Reflections but not as gritty and soulful!! ROD
  9. https://cgi.ebay.com/DOBIE-GRAY-The-In-Crow...Q2em118Q2el1247 Here's a copy on Ebay. You'd be extremely lucky to get rid of it for a couple of quid. Sorry ROD
  10. Played this out a few times to rousing indifference. Great 45! Think I musta heard it originally at the Pendulem in the warm-up spots there. ROD
  11. Don't tell me to F88K off you pr*ck. I said "imagine" clueless. At such a young age I doubted you'd have had much experience of listening to Northern and going to venues to get a feel for it. F88king moron!!! ROD
  12. Yep I found it at Ye Olde Clocke Shoppe in Kannapolis NC around 91/92. Knew the guys in there very well through getting them Beach 45s. Been through place a few times but just happened to look under a table and behind some mags there were a few boxes I'd not seen. Mostly Beach but a lot of oddball 45s. Got the Willis and that blue label thing "Little something or other" which I saved for Butch. And yes I though it had a slight reggae feel which I think is why I liked it. Also got the Sadler Panther 45 which I think Phil Wainwright got off me and a few others like Johnny Hoyle [i think]. Can't remember too well now but around 30 decent 45s. If Agent is the guy who sold another to Barry James then by my calculation he was only 26/27 at the time and I imagine clueless when it came to Northern. And now for the controversy. Most of them were or are clueless without the price guides anyway!! Very few I'd trust to tell me what a good unknown record is. ROD

  14. I'd get off your high horse if I were you. No one has come on to say Simon has ripped them off too. I don't know him at all All the guy wants to do is send you the 45 back for you to check it is the original or not, and hopefully prove it was the copy you sent. I see nowt wrong with that. If you were then sure it wasn't, you coulda just sent it back. I actually think you've been unhelpful and coulda sorted this a long time ago. Mike recently posted about dealings on SS and too many disputes of this kind undermine confidence for all of us IMO. I've only dealt with you the once and perfect transaction so Im not doing you down. Just surprised you can't see your responsibility in this. Despite your obvious anger I do think you're now doing the right thing. ROD
  15. You wouldn't know an antirrhiinum from a myosotis!! I certainly can't remember seeing you at the Chelsea Flower Show in 1978. Your post is just a plant to divert attention from that rather unexpected contratemps that just broke out. Clare is seeing to the bulbs she bought recently. Most of them are on their last stems as far as I can see. ROD
  16. Hey, I hope you're not including me in that. Didn't expect him to play carvers and only replied to James that I thought Parliaments sounded muffled compared to the rest of the stuff. I think in the context of the argument on SS between Ian and James, There was no sign of the 400 or whatever "newies". There was nothing new 60's wise to me and even though I know bugger-all about 70's only Impact, James Lovejoy and Latimore track were new too. You may be right that Ian didn't set out to showcase all new stuff but if I'd been at loggerheads with James and others I certainly would have done. That spot in a club with the odd tweak woulda suited me down to the ground. I think it came well within James' reflections on the current scene where there is no oldies V. Newies but just good records delivered by enthusiastic and passionate djs. ROD
  17. Soulsations "Here comes the pain" on Ste-al. $125 on Moerer's list. Great record but bit slow for dance floor. So Chalky what's the score with Singleton track. Unissued or what? ROD
  18. Yes Simon Im not doubting you. All Im saying is that for the independent reader it's hard to tell what went on. However I did say that those who know you will have made up their minds and those you've bought off on SS will also know they've had problem-free transactions with you so some suspicion can only fall on Marc which isn't good for him if he continues to sell 45s on here. The earlier date of posting also counters some of Marc's argument. A scan of package with date and illegible address would aid your case I guess. ROD
  19. I didn't know he played any carvers for sure but when listening I did think the Parliaments sounded muffled compared to rest of playlist. Was it a carver then James? And Margie Singleton Ian said was unreleased and yet on a previous thread I think you and Chalky said you'd been playing it or at least already knew it. Is it unreleased? ROD
  20. I listened and if there is still any confusion Charades was first 45 and Moments "Key to..." was inbetween Martha Starr and Soulsations. Wasn't keen on James Lovejoy sorry or that Latimore 45 which was a bit dull I thought. Rest were very enjoyable. I'd imagine people will be snapping up that "Smile awhile" by Impact whilst it's still cheap. However when I think of Ian as a dj I remember him as ahead of the pack. I think that spot puts him squarely in with the pack. Don't know if Ian himself would be happy with that or what. Missed last hour to watch "The Mist" ROD
  21. "So as I am not blind and know what kind of record I was holding and grading when I had said copy in my hands and" Im sorry Marc I read the above in Post#11 to mean you'd had the Eddie Parker. In fact later you mention that you'd seen most of the records were Mint so you didn't need to grade them. Obviously no idea who is in the wrong here but I guess people know Simon and if they believe what he's saying to be true then you're losing future custom by refusing to even check the 45 if he sends it back to you. Yes it is a hassle but last load I sold on here were for a mate in NJ and I checked them all and woulda helped out if there had been any comeback. I think that's all Simon is asking for really. I don't know what anyone else thinks who's reading this but right now I'd be wary of selling to Simon and wary of buying from you or Ralf, which is why I'd try and sort it out. ROD
  22. Well no doubt we'll now get Simon's side but your account needs an answer especially the 2 day delivery. That does appear unfeasibly fast for Germany to here unless anyone knows different. However you admit to having and grading the 45 so it's not quite the same as Joe Dunlop or Raving Mad who put their own address on their ads and no doubt do their own grading etc. You kinda got yourself involved there. ROD
  23. No it's true. Carpet fitters make the best DJs
  24. Just ask on SS for Marc's address or if he reads this thread he'll most likely supply it. Don't give up on this. ROD
  25. Thanks for refreshing my memory Nev. I did kinda remember the ad. Simon, really just send it back. Marc posted listing. Doesn't matter who he was selling for. ROD
