  1. thanks for that simon. are some folks not getting the you tube clip. it should come up, failing that go on you tube and put group and title in you should be able to listen to it. my technology is not that great dave
  2. richie, its a belgian copy( i think) of the tams this precious moment on the supreme label. belgian , because it says SABAM on the label ??. there one of the major lance how can you say good bye on this label as well as the drifters that came out on sounds south. there should be a you tube link to it dave
  3. I HAVE A RED SOUNDS SOUTH COPY AS WELL BUT WHEN I SAW THIS I THOUGHT IM NOT LEAVING IT JUST IN CASE. ITS THE SAME COUPLING AS THE USA COPY AND THE ORIGINAL DRIFTERS ON SOUNDS SOUTH IS ALSO ON THIS LABEL. DAVE
  4. italian EMI 12in only from 2005 originally. although due to its popularity via ian johnson and others since then its only a matter of time it gets re issued on a 7 or 12 dave
  5. i think it just stayed on catalogue coz ive seen the early sixties black label design as well. at the turn of the 70`s there`s a yellow oldies series reissue of it too:thumbsup: dave
  6. agreed steve. still a good record. got a nice columbia issue on the shelves dave
  7. it probably goes under the radar as far as far as popsike is concerned. it was a small pop hit and a fair sized R n B hit on chess & i think it came out twice ?????. the motown 1st release is much rarer and then chess picked it up for national release. chess demo is nice though not sure of price on that dave
  8. is that a large definately sebastain......................were you at the session or something. not convinced about it being the same group as the chex /vip outfit altho it does sound as though it could be 65 rather than 68 . was the rampart copy issued in 68 or is that earlier dave
  9. there was one in sales last week @ £20 but i think it sold within minutes. way too cheap really. when you consider how many there are dave
  10. pete had it on ebay last week as a buy it now for £45. i had it in my watches and thought about it coz its a rarer stock copy. its a shame coz some of these big city beat ballad productions are immaculate but price wise there dead in the water and demand is not what it was 10/15 years ago. theres hundreds of titles like this.....................shameful really dave
  11. tom jones did a decent version on his help yourself lp from 1968. not quite jerry fuller but not bad. the same lp has i cant break the news on dave
  12. i dont think the chex /vip group are anything to do with the linda outfit.. i shouldnt take that artical as gospel mate dave
  13. youre right in the order of pressing but the majestics wasnt issued til 1968 david & ruben 1969 its not early or mid 60`s or owt like that dave
  14. i think its worth that but i got lucky and picked one up for £10 last year. ive known this 45 since the very early 80`s but never owned it til now dave
  15. usa issue is blue and not green or at least ive never seen a green one of this or any other usa philips release? my copy is uk bought from mick smith in 1990 for £20 it was mint tho. played at morcambe tho could have been played before. i have an NME magazine from sept 1968 where derek johnson reveiws the uk release and he thought it was poor with no chance of being a hit but he also says that about carl carlton competion issued on action the same week .the man obviously had no idea dave
  16. IT WENT FOR NEARLY £90. THATS MORE THAN A PYE DEMO WOULD SELL FOR.UNBELIEVABLE DAVE
  17. https://shop.ebay.co....&_sop=12&_rdc=1 cheers dave
  18. come to think of it i think you want to change me came out in canada although i may have seen the one copy. it looked like a uk copy with a big hole and a usa catalogue number im 99.9% certainand in my experiences the canadian philips 45`s from the 60`s are vinyl. ive seen a mint usa issue recently for £100 but i think that too dear even for one that doesnt hiss. i would say £60 in any format that plays well and bugger all if it hisses dave
  19. bloody hell moon river by greyhound. that was in the top 20 in 1971. it came out on trojan. i remember my mum buying it off thurnscoe market at the time. how long is it since you got that copy nev. i cant recall ever seeing it. i paid £10 for a pye issue about 8 years ago. still got it. my mate got one of those lou curtans fairly cheap on ebay and thought he was on a winner. i did tell him it was a beach boot but he kept it dave
  20. bf 1702 is the uk copy with great fidelity. dont know of any european release. im afraid its pot luck with the usa release. never seen a vinyl usa copy the majority of issues & demos do seem to hiss alto there are good copies around dave
  21. me, our bri & steve mank ran a monthly do thruout 1994 at the royal electric theatre. initially very sucessful but again we had trouble with finishing times ( they wanted us out for midnight) so after the november one we knocked it on the head. also had a go at running the empress in the90`s with varying degrees of sucess dave
  22. another top venue sadly missed. we went as often as possible in the 90`s picked up some nice 45`s there as well dave
  23. we dj`d there more than a dozen times over the years and never missed as punters as it was and still is walking distance from our houses. they had all the top dj`s there and i even went there for my batchelor do in 1992 (as well as the mandetory trip to blackpool). last do as i remember probably late 90`s ....97 maybe. i have a video somewhere with some footage on that pete mcshane did. they were happy days indeed. they have always had trouble with the locals and noise levels there tho dave
