think youd need 2 jewels for an ike strong in todays market.
thought jewel was around the £200 mark and ike strong
£350. didnt jm auction ike strong and get nearly £500 for it
or did i imagine it. both brill records anyway
dave
im sure i remember blake hellewells mate kev johnson having a red issue in the mid 90s. He sold his records to tim brown
brownie must have kept that for himself as i cant remember him listing it. ive seen plenty of white ones in varying degrees
of condition, indeed some dont play very well at all. and its true there coming to take me away is a stunning version
of napoleon 14th released at the same time altho rose didnt take a share of the chart honours
dave
just played "nobody", the flip of what you gonna do........almost forgot how good it was.
quite cheap by todays standards. willy tee brilliance. might throw it in the dj box. if its good
enough for mr hampsey, its good enough for me
think youre right about pages martin. original is hard enough. but the repress is rarer. why would someone want to press
so few up. not sure about zz tho. mines the first issue according to jm`s book but i keep pulling the repress and the boots
out of boxes for a ton o money orig has better sound quality as well. Al mason was a regular £80/100 record until john
got his hands on it
dave
temptations originally did coming home. was it written by dennis edwards. its the flip side of struck by lightning
twice. ive got em but not at hand. anybody confirm
dave
cause youre mine now also came out on a cotillion 7in as well. i played it at mick waddington`s birthday do on saturday
up until that point i had a spare copy......................not any more
dave
dont think the temps recorded it in 1966 though surely. dennis edwards didnt replace david ruffin until 1968
must be a typing error on the cd or whatever the information was from. the release date but 1968 sounds more
nearer the mark and probably recorded for the cloud nine sessions
dave
gave my mate joe lakin a copy of never let you get away the other week. looked mint but had a burn on the intro.
coz he collects the label and he was missing it.
did i make a mistake
dave
I bort it cheap from a bloke who also sold me an ivories on despenza the same day. only knew it from an old tape i had
Didnt know owt abart it cept that i liked it. spoke to certain people. no one knew it. manships guide came out. it wasnt in it
2nd edition came out, not in there either. dont think its in brownies. and all this time never saw another copy bootleg or
otherwise. its only been in the last couple of years i seen a copy or 2 or 3. its in johns last book @ £300 and i think he got about that in auction for it. was it really kicking around in the 80s &early 90s then. coz if it was i missed it and i was collecting like a maniac then
dave
true it was available for a time. But then i must have gone 5 years not seeing a copy for sale. seen 2 or 3 recently
tho. there was a copy for sale at middleton on saturday for £300
dave
douse it in turps or white spirit, give it a couple of minutes, peel off slowly, let it dry and
then clean it with warm soapy water and it should be ok...................seriously
dave
alright nev
my copy looks the same as the one trevski posted up. the vinyl is quite thick. intro is about
half a cm and the run out about one and a half cm. in the run out it says GU107AA just below
the san antonio on the adress at the bottom of the label. and at the top of the label near the
A of the GARU it says TSS 690716B. it being the flip side and all that. hope that helps
dave
