Wigan Casino's Last Hurrah
At the 'End of an Era' nighter a flyer advertising the Tommy Hunt live night was distributed. After that all went quiet for a few weeks, then an advert was placed in Black Echoes featuring the fact that they had secured the venue for another six (I think - been a while, but think there were six) dates. They were a mixture of Oldies and Saturday night sessions. I went to the first few including the December 4th Friday Oldies date...mid-way through that nighter there was a rumour going around that this would actually be the very, very last one and that an announcement would be made later. Of course, most took that with a pinch of salt, even after the official announcement was made over the mic. However, that was indeed the final night and none of the other extra dates ever happened...no idea what the real reason was as to why not, they just didn't. As Tony pointed out, the venue had not been cleaned prior to that nighter, and bottles and rubbish was still there from the previous nighters...terrible...no excuse for that at all...shame.

Edward Hamilton - Baby Don't You Weep
The key words being 'if I'm correctly informed'. May we ask as to who informed you of what...did this someone have definitive evidence as to which came first? Maybe confusion has arisen and a merger of the two statements of, 'which was rarer' and 'which came first', has led to the 'with' variant suddenly being unfairly known as a '2nd issue'?

Lesley Gore - Singles / Album Tracks
One that I feel would work is her, 'No matter what you do' on Mercury (7" and LP). I right thumper and a fabulous key change in the instrumental break.

Edward Hamilton - Baby Don't You Weep
A fine theory, but alas the 'without' copy I have also has a Nashville Matrix stamp, so back to the drawing board I'm afraid.

A floater...of all things unholy!

Carnival
Little Royal was a minor spin for Keb back in the day...here's the WD variant. Also, here's an original demo of the Topics, which suffered from being bootlegged. I would post a scan of the 7" Jimmy Jules acetate I have for 'Let yourself go', but it doesn't have any labels so looks a tad boring!

Gino Washington - I'll Be Around
I'll humbly agree with your humble opinion, squire!

Edward Hamilton - Baby Don't You Weep
Has it actually been 100% confirmed which came first...as in with or without Mike Terry credit? In my experience I have seen far more with his name credit on it (quite often vg+ with label wear), than without. I also note with interest that one on Popsike 'without' also has a 'Chips' distribution sticker on it to confuse us further!

Wanted : Flairs - Where You Live - Rap
Funny you should say that, Tim, as I do see it over here fairly regularly I even used to leave it considering no one wanted it...up until six months or so ago! I just happen to have a mint one for sale on my site at present... >>> PRESS HERE <<<

"shades Of Soul"
Yep, big pat on back for Bradford's finest...y'all listen to him on the radio as well, right..his shows are as entertaining as the mags were/are! The disc reviews I wrote for this fine publication between 2000 and 2004 are on my site, should you have a spare 5 minutes, a mug of tea and a few biscuits to hand...enjoy: >>> PRESS HERE <<<

Just remembered that I found this one last year over here in Tokyo! Best use of the backing track imo.

Here's a US demo for reference...and yes the sound drops out in one place as with the UK copies. Shame.
