  1. here's some blurb from a rare "real original" white demo. Written in 2008. "Meet Me Halfway/Mama (Tay-Ster TS 6016) Lillie Bryant was 26 years of age when she recorded this extremely rare DJ Copy 45 for the New York City-based Tay-Ster label. She has such an incredibly beautiful and strong voice, so it should come as no surprise that this Jack Taylor-penned 45 is a perennial favourite and quintessential record that best exemplifies the Wigan Casino sound, ideals and sensibilities. To give you an idea of just how rare this Manship-listed 45 (valued at 2200 GBP) is, think of it like this: there are many Northern Soul DJs out there who love, cherish and want this record, but most of these DJs could probably spend 20 years looking for it out in the field and collector circles and still may never find it. Vinyl Grade: M-. There is some label wear in the form of water damage (dark spots) and the thinnest layer of paper is also missing from part of the label. The label is not as dark as it appears in the enclosed photograph. Also, there is a slight warp that does not affect play. The vinyl itself has a high gloss, and this 45 is definitely one of the greatest of the holy grail Northern Soul 45s. On Jun-27-08 at 12:58:12 PDT, seller added the following information: I have recently spoken with a top Northern Soul collector who advised me there are probably less than 10 known copies of this record in the world."
  2. You don't see many for sale, Lillie Bryant that is............
  3. Any idea on dates ? 70s US records tend have a date on them, nice BTW
  4. Browsing for a Moments record and saw that there are quite a few different Stang designs. I assume the plain red was a late 60s or early 70s and the funky orange and pink a later 70s issue. Any light to shed ?
  5. Luvva Lee..................as rare as an honest politician....................
  6. I'm sure it's me but what I missing here ? https://www.popsike.com/CHUCK-WOOD-Seven-Days-Too-Long-NORTHERN-SOUL-NM-45-/360383125757.html
  7. Certainly looks 60s..................
  8. I have some US & UK ones, they're different in number & content. Am at work now will see tomorrow what I have.
  9. Were "Big Hits" the first series and "Chartbusters" a second lot ? Seem to remember Chartbusters containing very late 60s very early 70s recordings ?
  10. Come out in lots of forms...................... Well worth having.....................
  11. This came up a couple of years ago : The originals have the credits text higher, see photos. Good luck !
  12. For clarity's sake Jerry Cook was issued, same deal like Alex Patten.
  13. Can I have two ?.................... https://www.ebay.com/itm/MOSES-SMITH-The-Girl-Across-The-Street-rare-soul-vinyl-45-/310168587880?pt=Music_on_Vinyl&hash=item48377d0e68
  14. Don't look too much these days, tends to be overvalued/priced stuff or a bunch of re-issues or Michael Jackson being called Northern Soul. Good luck
  15. Reckon on about £150 for either, issues have been tougher to find. Not sure, was there ever a pic sleeve of "Rescue" ? There was for "Workin" Nicely schmicely....................
  16. Also boots are big thick vinyl, originals are thinner.
  17. A word of warning, don't stand too close the dance-floor edge otherwise you could get hurt in the stampede Add "Heartaches away my boy" to that list.................
  18. Thanks, I was sure they came from LA in both types. I got them from an arranger who worked for Okeh LA so I was sure they weren't boots. I'm at work right now ( ) will try and scan the matrix and post.
  19. This was mine, sold it, see what I got !! https://www.popsike.com/Northern-Soul-PP-Arnold-Everythings-Gonna-Be-Alright-Original-UK-Immediate/261130192500.html
  20. Some while ago I bought some Los Angeles Okeh singles, Little Richard, Williams & Watson and a couple of others. Some have stamped matrix numbers others have scratched, they all come from an impeccable source, so did the LA produced singles have both stamped AND scratched numbers ?
  21. Very nice................. https://www.ebay.co.u...984.m1431.l2649 But £500 ???

I used to go to a venue (when I were a kid like) where the floor did actually "heave", it was wooden and used to bend and if you weren't careful you'd get catapulted upwards............

    Thanks re-enforces the argument..................
