  1. If you look on page 5 of the attached pdf, it has a picture of Marvin Gaye and bit about August Moon being Dickie Diamond https://www.southsiderichmond.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/heart-and-soul.pdf
  2. Sound of Soul was an August Moon label which Larry Saunders/Sanders had a few released on. There are also a few funk things on it too. There is a great version of "All My Friends Call Me A Fool" by Nobody's Child which was also done by Larry Saunders. I was putting a discography together a few years ago and I'll see if I can find it. I also don't know which LP release came first. Top LP though........
  3. I'm assuming that you'd be playing the Tomb Raider game with Angelena Jolie, cos the thought of getting jiggy with a computer animation just doesnt seem right to me.......... Its got to be Donnie Hathaway every time. I'm not normally a fan of "live" LP's, but when he sings this on the Atco Live LP the troubles of the world just melt away.
  4. I have to mention his version of the old warhorse "That's How Strong My Love Is", with the monologue at the beginning. Just love it to bits........
  5. The last one I saw a few months ago, someone wanted about £120. But you can get it cheaper....
  6. Paul you can hear the deep side here. https://www.sirshambling.com/artists/T/trisha_brown.htm Go on buy both of them and give one to me.......
  7. Working from home on a Sauturday? If you are, you should be tucked up in bed already........ Yep, he did, but I've not burnt it mp3 yet, so I cant post it up. Must get some Irma thomas burnt as well.
  8. Ken, The more the merrier....
  9. Swamp Dogg a unique genius, so here are a few tunes to start it off.....
  10. I was intrigued about the use of WD-40 and found these views on an audio forum. https://audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?p=3286828 So I'm not too sure, if I'd be completely happy using it on my records.
  11. Blimey, I missed out on that one......
  12. 6 months, I can't remember it being that low for a few years?
  13. Kent released these great CD's https://www.acerecord...59&release=7643 https://www.acerecord...59&release=4726 The Sandra Phillips part of the CD is a straight re-issue or her Canyon LP and the Bette Williams stuff is mainly her Gregar stuff, plus a few extra's. The Irma Thomas is the Canyon to Fungus stuff + some extra's They are well worth a purchase.
  14. Which IMO along with I'm A Loser, is sheer perfection in terms of soulfulness..........
  15. Bit of train spotting.... The above track was written by John Gary Williams. There is also a version of Two Fools on the Stax LP which was also recorded by Willie Singleton and released on Truth. I have to admit, he is one of my favourite artists.
  16. Benji, Thought you were about right or maybe a bit more for the single. If you're not fussed on format, the LP is better value as you should be able to pick one up for £20-30 and its not a one tracker "If it's love that you want" was on the Stax LP Check it Out, which came out when Fantasy bought the back catalogue. They were all in the can and unreleased at the time. I think they date around the time of his Truth single, but this could be wrong. I don't think any singles were pulled from the LP when it eventually was released in 1981.

  22. Nice one on this Barry. I also like his version of Lonnie Ray's - Just As I Am, which is on the same LP even though they all sound like they've been recorded in a toilet. Blues Critic says that they're vocals from 72/73 overlayed with backing from 83/84. Its still got the classic Swamp Dogg all over it though.
  23. The red/orange issue is a lot harder to come by than the WD.
  24. Mark, I thought the last one that was auctioned went for about £700
