I thought it was an LP only track from the "Pieces" album on Columbia in the late 70's, but then again it may have got a single release.
  2. Bump on the back of a thread on EMS
  3. Sounds good to me. It leaves it completely open.... Genres, 60's to Y2k, 7's/12's/LPs and CDs Hope I get in.
  4. I have both versions. "Special" came out once on a 7" with the instrumental (i think) on the other side and twice on a 12", one with the instrumental (PJ 2547) and one (which came out later) with "Special Part Of Me" on the other side (PJ 2551). Special Part of me comes up sporadically on ebay and goes for between £30-£50. There was a picture of him in voices about the time of release and he was quite young. Coincidently Charles Walker - See Me, came out about the same time and there was an article in voices on him, which stated that he was Little Charles. Cheers, John
  5. The Impressions - Somthing Said Love - Ripete Does this count as Ripete is an oldies beach reissue lable or have they had other new releases? Are the Kent 7"s "genuine released oldies 45's"? John
  6. Can anyone tell me what the current price of Mill Evans - Why, Why, Why - King Is there much a price differential between issues and demos? Cheers, John
  7. Steve, You wouldn't happen to know, if anyone's got this for sale would you? John
  8. I heard somewhere that My Love with You was released twice, maybe with a different flip, can anyone confirm this? Nice tune, shame about pressing quality, sounds as if it was recorded in a toilet.
  9. I'd like to be in again, although I think I'm still missing about 10 CD's What about tunes not in Manships price guide?
  10. Tyrone Davis' recordings, are (virtually) all quality tunes and span from the 60's to the 90's. How many artists can you compare that to? Even better, is that nearly all of them can be picked up for peanuts. One of my favourites is "Are You Serious" on Highrise, but his Dakar stuff IMO is second to none. Evey night should play at least one of his tunes or are they "too cheap" to play????? John
  11. Hi, can one of the mods move this to the madia section please as it seems to have been posted in the lookback section. John
  12. Digging through some old voices at the weekend, I was reading various Jan Barkers columns. Can anyone post up My World on New London Int as I'd like to hear the talkie but in the middle that Jan said was ommited on the polydor relase. Cheers, John
  13. I thought the two issues were due to different pressing plants? I prefer the scroll design, though Its from 83, along with the self titled LP which seems to go for more than the 7" ..... I like both, but in different ways and I think they both due justice the George Jackson song. John
  14. The 12" was on Skyline and was on the flip of "Hey Sweet Lady" from 1990, I think it may have been a remixed, but cant be sure.
  15. Can anyone give me a ball park price of Buddy Cantrell Why Did You Leave Me on Tuska, please John
  16. If there are only 3 known, who owns them? Steve G - I assume it not that one Soul Sam - which I think wasn't mint I'd be very surprised if Tim Brown hasn't got one already, as he's selling it. Taking Rod Dearlove's copy out of the equation, doesnt that potentially make 4?

  19. Flip it over..... Lets Talk It Over is fabulous.
  20. One of my favourite records of all time is "I'm in Love" also on the Sweet Surender LP
  21. Since first hearing the news, I've been trying to think of what to write. Although I hadn't seen Jim in a number of years, he was one of the people you couldn't forget. He was one of the most kind and thoughtful people I have ever known and would do anything for anyone and often went out of his way to help people. Seeing the photo's posted, brings back lots of fond memories, but also brings sadness. He loved soul music and loved to dance. A sad loss not only to the soul fraternity, but to anyone he'd met. John
  22. Eddie Parker - Crying Clown

This was raised a little while ago, when soneone had the 7" in the "sales" section. I've never seen a 12" on Al & the Kidd in the flesh, but seen a few on Fynal Vynil. Which do seem to come up on a periodic basis. Adam mentioned that he'd had 3 through his doors. I think someone said the 12" is around £400 even though it is rarer, but the 7" in more prized. Well I suppose the 7" can fit on your thumb, whereas the 12" cant.
  24. It's got to be: Willie Johnson I Can't See Myself/Left-Over Love on Future Stars. This is the closest I've ever got to one.
