  1. Just about every great record that had ever been played on the Northern Soul scene since it's inception up until 1980, got played at Wigan Casino at one time or another. Yes there were some bad records played, but overall the great far outweighed the bad!
  2. Crazy price £431 for Edward Hamilton on the New York label Jameco! I could understand it a little better if it was on either of the Detroit original labels. Mary Jane or the LaBeat connected, orange coloured Carrie label.
  3. I used those 1960's green stiff paper USA sleeves. They are so rough paper they were like fine sandpaper against my records. Micro scratching them every time I removed them from the sleeves!
  4. It's a nice record that has been played on the scene from time to time, but that price is just extracting the Michael! Also I am beginning to hate it when sellers on ebay use the A.I. option to make the descriptions on items for sale. It creates a massive load of unnecessary waffle
  5. Great Northern Soul classic. Original first edition issue. USA 45rpm Condition is Mint- £125 includes fully insured postage. The label pressed slightly off centre, record plays spot on.
  6. So that means every rare record must have crap vocal's! That's why nobody wanted to buy it! So now we know why Ty Karim and The Cashmeres, for example, never sold many records!!!
  7. It's good quality styrene like Columbia ZTSC and Monarch etc. Not poor quality like Blue Rock and the blue label Philips! As you will probably know, a mint styrene can be a lot better sound quality than some vinyls. As long as you only play them sparingly at home. No so good for busy dj's. who will persist in backtracking when they cue up a record. No need for it!
  8. Bargain of the list was the Wooden Nickels "Nobody But You" on Omen. Proper, storming allnighter Northern Soul!
  9. Well if you don't like the record that's ok, but stop trying to spoil it for people who do like it!
  10. Looks to me like two things have emerged from this topic. 1. Nobody has any answer to the original question. 2. And a lot of people seem to want to hate "I'll Forgive and Forget" by Ron Holden. Oh happy day's!
  11. The vinyl yellow label Age Of Bronze is a later issue. Guava 103. It was graded as warped in the auction. The styrene Gold label issue is the first issue. Guava 102.
  12. That's an scathing review of the record. You've gone way off-topic. It was about issue copies from a collectors point of view, not about if you like the record or not which ends up being very negative. Overall the record has a great production, the verve and excitement that's created more than make up for any faults. These records were made for young vibrant people who wanted a good time and to dance. Not for us old timers and pensioners to dissect and analyze them for their artistic merits!
  13. "Such A Pretty Thing/ I Fooled you this Time" - Gene Chandler - Checker Original first edition USA 45rpm. Mint - £25 plus £4 postage.
  14. In all the years I have never seen an issue copy, apart from those modern look-a-likes. It would be amazing to find a real issue copy!
  15. Gene Redd, one of the greats of writing and producing superb records! All his work for Detroit labels and his own Red Coach productions, and for other labels as well.
  16. I think this "Two Time Loser" is a great record by him! Also his "I Think You've Got Your Fools Mixed Up" is another goodie!
  17. I remember in the early 1980's John Anderson at Soul Bowl had a small quantity of originals in stock. They were £10 for a few weeks on the lists. It then became a very popular sound, with a price tag to match.
  18. Have you played this recently? Just so good. Puts me in the zone! Only on a USA LP, not on 45. It came out in the UK as a single in 1968.
  19. Steve Foran puts up a great playlist in Stockport Ukraine Club Saturday 30 March.

  23. No she's not. That's not what she started out saying. She's being disrespectful of a whole lot of people past and present.
  24. How are you the judge of what is or not signs of autism and ADHD based on your personal likes, loves or dislikes and prejudices? Women get there breasts cut open to put in silicone plastic, faces injected with botox. Other people get there ears mutilated to wear earrings. Tattoos etc. Are these signs of your mental issues? People do dangerous things like Motorcycling, Skiing, Boxing etc at risk of permanent injury or death when it isn't necessary. Is this a sign of ADHD Autism? Drinking alcohol or extreme fitness regimes, more signs of Autism or ADHD? I would not be arrogant enough to decide if these behaviours were signs of ADHD/Autism or not, or to indiscriminately label people with it I have never ever met!
  25. Nearly £5000 for Lucky Fellow! Always thought it was ok track, but that price is silly! The ego of the DJ, knows no bounds
