  1. 'Trey J's "I Found it All In You" at around 1:50,' I think this is actually 1:37, could definitely do with another minute added to it! Brilliant all the same..... JP Robinson on Blue Candle ends too soon as well, always want him to come back in after the flute playout.......
  2. The Lovations track: is this the same as The Lovelettes on Capcity? Great female crossover soul if so.

'has been played quite a bit on the mod scene. I bought it for that side, wasn't bothered at all about 'try my love', and still not.' I'm the opposite, used to hear 'The Real Thing' a lot at Shotgun but now 'Try My Love' is the better side for me. TRH is defintely the more mod interesting side. A great 45 whatever way you look at it really.
  4. Would love a copy of this VG+ upward if anyone has a spare? Thanks! JM
  5. Can anyone tell me what the going rate is on this nowadays? Cheers! JM
  6. Heard the Mal Adams on Saturday at the 100.....fabulous record, including the organ breakdown....
  7. Awesome record imho........pure adrenalin rhythm & soul. Did they cut anything else?

Got lots of action on the mod scene a few years back as well. Got rid of mine about two years ago for £250 ish.
  9. Hi Does anyone know if this got a 45 release? Many thanks JM
  10. Did anyone see Winehouse on the Brits last night? Utterly deplorable. Couldn't understand a word she 'sang', she bumbled and tottered around the stage like some sort of pissed aunt and generally did herself no favours. In fact she thoroughly insulted a very good backing band with her crapness. The poor love. 'At this point I'd say "Let's hear it for Daptone!" for holding the torch for small indie labels in the states.' Ab-soul-utely!
  11. What a beautiful label. Up there with Addit and multi coloured Ember for me.
  12. in case the link doesn't work.....
  13. I thought that a copy of SR went for the equivalent of £1700 on ebay last year, and then the same seller had another that went for the same price with only one bid? https://www.popsike.com/php/detaildatar.php...nr=220102931015 Also spoke to someone who played it at Soul Essence 2006 (not Sam) and he said he'd either paid £500 odd for it or it was worth that if I remember correctly. That was the first time I heard it. One of the best 70's things I've heard.
  14. would love to hear this Chancellors....JM doesn't have a clip for it.....
  15. Alan don't do it! Go for the Underwood!!! TONS better! Think the Garlon Davis is cheaper by a hundred or so, but maybe a little harder? Marc could answer that better ,having them both
  16. Talking of The Beat.....Venice Starks from the Willie Mitchell review does 'I Got Everything He Needs' which shares the backing of OV Wright's 'Love The Way You Love'....did that ever get issued as it is a recording she is miming to? In fact theres tons of stuff on The Beat shows of interest that seem hard to track down. Another Venice Starks mid tempo track, 'Get You Out Of My Mind' which is great.... Eva Larse singing 'Bye Bye Baby' as 'Took Your Love'.. Tammy McKnight was issued on Athens but seems very obscure. Les Watson sings a frantic version of "Beg Me' live but not sure if he actually put a version out on vinyl? But one of the best things on there outside of Gerri Hall is The Four M's version of 'Monkey Time'. I know they did have an issued record thats quite valuable in the guides but did they record anything else?

Butch also has a Tal Armstrong 70's c/u that is absolutely superb. Heard it at Soul Rev NYE.
  18. Gav Evans has a copy as well. which he bought for similar money to Mace I think a few years back. The other one on a associate label is Garlon Davis which shares the backing but imho is nowhere near as good.
  19. many thanks mike! what a record!
  20. Can anyone give me the title/artist/label on track 1 that goes 'i wanna know' off of Mr. Rix's Session 8 out of Refosoul please? I'm assuming it may be unissued? Cheers!
  21. Thanks for the info Boba.
  22. Whats the deal with the Corvetts track? I thought it was brilliant btw....is that a fair price for it?
