Us Soul - Is It Over?
Did anyone see Winehouse on the Brits last night? Utterly deplorable. Couldn't understand a word she 'sang', she bumbled and tottered around the stage like some sort of pissed aunt and generally did herself no favours. In fact she thoroughly insulted a very good backing band with her crapness. The poor love. 'At this point I'd say "Let's hear it for Daptone!" for holding the torch for small indie labels in the states.' Ab-soul-utely!

I thought that a copy of SR went for the equivalent of £1700 on ebay last year, and then the same seller had another that went for the same price with only one bid? https://www.popsike.com/php/detaildatar.php...nr=220102931015 Also spoke to someone who played it at Soul Essence 2006 (not Sam) and he said he'd either paid £500 odd for it or it was worth that if I remember correctly. That was the first time I heard it. One of the best 70's things I've heard.

Carl Underwood - Play In Your Own Backyard
Alan don't do it! Go for the Underwood!!! TONS better! Think the Garlon Davis is cheaper by a hundred or so, but maybe a little harder? Marc could answer that better ,having them both

Tighten Up Your Game - Lee "shot" Williams & Gerri Taylor
Talking of The Beat.....Venice Starks from the Willie Mitchell review does 'I Got Everything He Needs' which shares the backing of OV Wright's 'Love The Way You Love'....did that ever get issued as it is a recording she is miming to? In fact theres tons of stuff on The Beat shows of interest that seem hard to track down. Another Venice Starks mid tempo track, 'Get You Out Of My Mind' which is great.... Eva Larse singing 'Bye Bye Baby' as 'Took Your Love'.. Tammy McKnight was issued on Athens but seems very obscure. Les Watson sings a frantic version of "Beg Me' live but not sure if he actually put a version out on vinyl? But one of the best things on there outside of Gerri Hall is The Four M's version of 'Monkey Time'. I know they did have an issued record thats quite valuable in the guides but did they record anything else?

Little Jerry Cover Up
Butch also has a Tal Armstrong 70's c/u that is absolutely superb. Heard it at Soul Rev NYE.

Carl Underwood - Play In Your Own Backyard
Gav Evans has a copy as well. which he bought for similar money to Mace I think a few years back. The other one on a associate label is Garlon Davis which shares the backing but imho is nowhere near as good.

Harvey Averne Dozen
Still think Hector Riviera's 'Chance For Romance' is the very best latin dancer, (and very tough to find) closely followed by this and Tony Middleton 'Return To Spanish Harlem'/ 'Already Satisfied' on Speed. Is the other Harvey Averne mentioned on Uptite or Fania?

Wanted : Lee Fields On Angle 3
I've been looking for a copy of this for about four years now and still haven't found one. And now it will be silly money I'd imagine due to its recent exposure.
