  1. Picked up a spare last week if anyone's interested - EX - £80
  2. https://cgi.ebay.com/...5#ht_500wt_1097 Check it out - sound file and large scan included. Thanks! J
  3. Dorothy Ramsey - He's a real gone guy - Melodynamic - VG - 110ukp (plays really well, nice and loud, hardly any background noise) " Fantastic female RnB dancer, surprisingly I've never heard this played out. A toughy to get your hands on and relatively unknown...top record perfect for todays RnB scene!" I used to pay this years ago on the mod scene in London - really quite a tough record to find - good price mate!
  4. Really good prices!
  5. And lastly - could try Adrian Lionel Lupton - he may be interested in a part trade on JT Rhythm??? Really nice copy he's got too
  6. Rare Northern Soul still has Cosmos Universal Edu...could try them for a trade?
  7. I got mine from a a mod collection where it had bought thinking it was another issue of the r&b one
  8. Pretty sure Yann had one for sale not long ago. It does crop on ebay now and then but i think its much harder as 'ain't no brag'. one of them has a nice crossover flip too. Sounds good next to 'Its Ok'.
  9. Thought as much to be honest Ian!
  10. "Also got Mel Wynn "Don't wanna lose you" on same with inst on the other side.. " Would love to hear this!!!
  11. The Little Tommy with the Upsetters acetate is a much better sound recording than the actual issued 45 - is that the same for this one too?
  12. Karl Heard hammered this a number of years ago up north, and I think Paul Sadot, and its getting tons of attention from the funk scene and now the mod scene I believe. May have had tons of attention for ages btw, but thats my understanding of it
  13. Ron Harrington been going down very well at 100 recently, and been getting plays from Kenny Mac and a few others
  14. I know its not expensive, but how hard is the Ronnie Marks in terms of turning up alongside other Fania stuff? Don't collect it so no idea?
  15. Thanks for the kind words Ian! Turned out to be an interesting discussion all told, and as said, comments taken aboard! Not surprised BAOS divides opinion if I'm honest, but was worth trying it out - quite a few danced, others cringed, c'est la vie. 'Foisting' or 'forcing it down peoples throats' is never the aim however. Toodlepip
  16. "The Pervis Herder on Crow is looked for by some already...maybe the bext big thing on Crow." Nice 45 too! What about Mello Souls on Mello??
  17. Just interested to know as none of the funky records being played by any of the jocks i've heard are in any way different to aforementioned 'funky oldies'..... Joe Hicks, Lou Pride even....seems to me theres been heavy enough funk elements throughout northern soul to make the current crop of new records almost a revival! :) Maybe some just don't feel the quality is there with the new finds?
  18. Out of interest, whats older scene members view of 'funky oldies' then ie: Frankie Crocker, The Crow et al?
  19. "i know it is steve. but nothing good or exciting about the last 2 records . BAOS is a poor mans psychelic shack soundalike...and APPOLOS is a dull funk instrumental........got pace about them but thats all...not for me.is that the best we can do ..wheres the real stuff dave" But would you rather hear Cee Lo Green at a nighter?
  20. Where Adam heard it and asked me to play it the other weekend - this is all his fault as usual!
  21. I saw people dancing in the usual stylee - certainly noticed a large degree of shuffling going on to The Apollos at Cleggy - in the main room as well!
  22. Maybe we could agree on a special handshake that 'funky soul' lovers can give at soul nights to alert each other to their presence, like the Masons? I'm going to try this on Butch at the next 100.
  23. Hopefully will get something out of the old box to tickle your fancy instead....! And a record you like (boom boom)
  24. Yes its amazing - should be finally on the road and driving end of august so will definitely make it up at long last! Marco has been playing the Universals down here I think and heard Mr. Dobson play it once or twice before as well. Certainly not heard it anywhere near like enough though!
