  3. Joi Foxx......... Cheers, Mark R
  4. Blimey Glynn......mine might have to go!! Cheers, Mark R
  5. I'm not sure mate but would hazard a guess that the CD and boot cut are one and the same. Cheers, Mark R
  6. Was first to be found here, unless someone can tell me different........... Different take to the 12" release though.........not played 'em back to back but I think I prefer the CD version actually! Nice to have a record like this on the plastic though........ Cheers, Mark R
  7. Problem was Dave D, that no one was importing them, so I bought one from USA and had to stand their postage costs.......and we all know how much that can be these days. £10 for the record and £10 for postage, so mine cost £20 all told. That makes £17 a bargain, and even more so against the Soul Source prices!! It's a new release and just needs a bit of legwork to find one............no need to succumb to the "I have a spare of......" ..............................for now! Cheers, Mark R
  8. Then look no further..................and do us all a favour and just buy ONE copy!! https://www.firstexperiencerecords.com/product-detail///universalmotown/Marvin+Gaye/Where+Are+We+Going%3F++Woman+Of+The+World/vinyl/4564 Cheers, Mark R
  9. Not so much a hidden track, as simply just not credited on the CD cover, with a missing track number. It is credited in the booklet but that wouldn't help when looking at a new sealed CD copy back in the day!! Thanks to Mr. Searling if you kept a keen eye on Soul Sauce in B&S back then it didn't go unnoticed. A real fave of mine, though not a 'dancer'.... Renee Knott - That's Where My Heart Is - Scalesof…: Cheers, Mark R
  10. I thought it was actually Sepphire (e not a), but of course it could be neither of the above, in the same was that Allesure on the About Time comp CD wasn't by Allesure at all! I'm off to get the YouTube link for my favourite "mystery track"........ Cheers, Mark R
  11. Hi Sian, probably best separate if only because I can't change the thread title so it won't do the others justice! Why don't you start a new thread "Rugby playlists" and put them all in it, including mine? Cheers, Mark R
  12. Thanks Chalky, and it us nice to see it all in the main room. As someone who is an upfront modern DJ who still appreciates great 60's & 70's you can imagine the satisfaction I get from being able to have a set like that accepted in such a setting. Cheers, Mark R
  13. Thanks fella, much appreciated! Cheers, Mark R
  14. Hi all, Thanks to Sian & Dean for the invite to play at Rugby last weekend, the first time I've flown solo in the Main Room there having DJ'd on two other occasions double-decking with Adam. 15. Aaarrrggghhhh.........same weekend as Southport Weekender!! I was hoping to watch this in the cinema but the link seems to suggest it's only on one night in Leicester, Cov etc.......Saturday 18 October. Is that it? Any other dates? Is there a complete listing anywhere? Cheers, Mark R
  16. Liking the Womack choice Bri!! Cheers, Mark R

Well, I'm certain about the name I was given, which is the bottom line......... Cheers, Mark R

In short, I reckon I was at a weekender when I was told this......that should explain the vagueness! ! In hindsight, I should have simply said I believe it to be true...... Cheers, Mark R
  19. Oh shit.......how did I miss this thread!! :-( Cheers, Mark R
  20. Mark R replied to a post in a topic in All About the SOUL
Never listened to his show, but I believe this to be true......as I was once told by whom, and I reckon it even came from the horses mouth though my memory is vague on that! And no, I'm not going to reveal who if it's not public knowledge. .....besides which it may no longer be the case as this was some time ago, or indeed the guy in question may have only put together a one off show for him. .. . Cheers, Mark R
  21. Fancy cutting Elaine off that photo Andy, you naughty lad!! Cheers, Mark R
  22. Ahh yes, Keb's black glove! LOL Cheers, Mark R
  23. Northern Soul music suits microphone use IMHO. More contemporary/music suited to mixing not necessarily so. Having said that, as an old soul boy, one of my biggest criticisms of house music is not being informed what the record is......because for me it's about great records and getting hold of them, not getting off my tits and dancing regardless of what I'm dancing to! That's an aside. But back to the point, an example I've used before......Guy Hennigan introducing 60's newies.......all about the delivery suiting the in your face music you are pushing and believe in. It drives it home even if only subconsciously. ....you probably don't even realise it! NS is suited to old fashion traditional DJ'ing methods for me...... Cheers, Mark R
  24. A minute fraction of what I had at my disposal Andy, but we gotta walk before we run!! LOL Cheers, Mark R
