  2. That looks like a typical collection of (mostly) bootlegs circa mid-late 70's.
  3. Pretty sure they are.
  4. Interesting thread as I have all the boots mentioned, Seems any thread about the Servicemen are very popular as they are one of the best groups on the Northern scene, pity they never cut more tunes. Pete Smith is right about the Magicians 45, mine cost me £25 and that's a good 15 years ago!!
  5. Thanks Chalky. Great vocals similar to Bobby Angelle. I'd love to hear some more of their tunes!
  6. ...so, is it Bobby Angelle singing vocals on that USA 'She Needs Somebody' 45?
  7. Me too, perhaps the 'audition' copies aren't as rare as the issues?
  8. Oh yes, thanks Chalky. 'Intentions' (Dennis Brennan's) blue-eyed. Intensions on USA etc sound like Bobby Angelle on vocals?
  9. Love that record ('It's Over My Head') and my copy on RAP has NO picture sleeve, never seen it before. Nice one.
  10. Dennis Brennan was a member , seem to remember having a conversation and buying a tune off ebay from him, their 'Don't Forget That I Love You'. Can someone post a soundfile of the Blue Light 'I Love You'?
  11. £30 I'd say, for 'The Record' side.
  12. Did they record anything else?
  13. Never heard this tune until recently and must say I'm impressed. Apparently, the flip 'The Jerk Is Catching' has had a couple of spins lately. Pure 60's Northern Soul!
  14. Thanks for posting, she's a babe!
  15. So, out and out 1960's Northern Soul (not crossovers/modern etc) .....what do we think the percentage is on a black / white artists? 75% black? 50/50 or what?

'Never Set Me Free' is the flip of 'Rudi's In Love' on Parlophone. Can't remember but think it's mid-tempo, I'll have to dig it out and give it a spin. Haven't heard the Direction tune though. Pete, is 'Message To You Rudy' another cover of the Dandy classic?
  17. Thanks Gareth & Premium stuff for clearing up that the Salvadors are indeed NOT a blue-eyed group. A top notch tune and definitely in my top ten of Northern Soul tunes! This one is blue-eyed though....The Lost Souls - Secret Of Mine (Raven)
  18. The Salvadors - Stick By Me Baby (wise world) ......surely a blue-eyed group?
  19. SOUL SET - will you ever learn Trade Martin Epitome Of Sound (most of 'em anyway) Explosive Dynamiks - whole lotta lovin (Lemco) Soul Masters - I'll Be waiting here (Raven)
  20. My original has a black hexagon shape around the label, am I right in thinking the boot doesn't??
  21. Anything else in the box? Demo on Stateside of Invitations....
