The Incredible Carnival Logo
Definitely not Phil Terrell, I have that on 45. Faster and with breaks I remember, may not be a Carnival track but it was definitely unreleased.

The Incredible Carnival Logo
At last I can ask my Carnival question! Pretty sure a mate (who I'm no longer in contact with) did me a tape of 'Carnival' recordings several years ago...some unissued and I'm sure there was one called 'Erase And Replace' (male vocal) from the vaults.....Can't find the tape but I really loved this tune, was It a Carnival unissued track?

The Inspirations - Love Oh Love - Camel
Just been on ebay and found this.... This is mine.... Sorry about the High Note label pic not very big but that's the way it uploaded from ebay, trust me, it's the same L.P! Also, label on the Tabernacle say's 'B&C' which was Trojan stuff weren't it?

The Inspirations - Love Oh Love - Camel
Oh, well I have an album (UK) by Otis Wright (Gospel/sacred bit of Soul type) with the Trojan 'High Note' logo on the cover/back cover BSLP 5003 and the Neasden Lane address.....label is Tabernacle!!

Ethics - I Want My Baby Back

Short Wants List
Is this another version of Marva Whitney on King?
-
Wants
Not the good one from the 70's, that has the proper flip (instrumental called Mr.Hip) and the same yellow label. It has fooled a lot of folk in its time. The one you're on about is more recent and has an orange label.

"boogaloo Down B'way" & "la La Means I Love You"
Don't think you'd get much for those buddy. The Penguins is probably worth more than the others, I'm not a doo-wop expert but Goldmine guide say's $150 on glossy red label 'Dootone' (not Doolite), $40 on blue label, $50 on maroon label and $30 on black label. Fantastic Johnny C & Delfonics are ten a penny....even over here! John

The Inspirations - Love Oh Love - Camel
There's a version of the already discussed 'Who you Gonna Run To' (Shades) on the album! It's a Trojan serial number with a Amalgamated label, not unusual though, have several Trojan L.P serial numbers with their offshoot's as labels....Clandisc, Tabernacle, Harry J etc. Best Amalgated L.p is 'Jackpot Of Hits' ...I'm sure you have that Pete, oh and 'Greetings From The Pioneers' is a cracking album too! That's the only 3 albums on that label aint it?

The Inspirations - Love Oh Love - Camel
Is this the same group who have the Amalgamated L.P 'Reggae Fever'?....heard there was a dispute as to whether they were actually the Untouchables of 'Tighten Up' fame. Then heard the Untouchables were the Kingstonians....and it goes on and on.... Great L.P by the way!

Celebrity Wife-swap
More than likely. The whole series (she watches it) has had a Northern Soul background score.

Wants
Well, a kosher one is gonna cost anything between £60/2000 maybe more as it's in-demand (again!). I got offered a snyde one for £50 and the seller knew it was a boot but that's what he wanted for it, I did see a boot for sale not too long ago for around the £40 mark. I did eventually get a counterfeit off a mate because I needed it for a group member, I must say it was spot on, looked the business and sound quality was great. The way to spot a boot is no official stamp in the run out groove.

Wants
Beware the good looking counterfeit, even that goes for a tidy sum!

Incredibles - Miss Treatment
Slightly different take on their L.P

Dealers/big Bunny
YES! You're quite right mate, I have it in my collection as well!!!
-
Dealers/big Bunny
The flip became very popular 'I Thought About You', think the price went up a bit after that.

A Sign Of The Times
I must admit, I foresaw the demise of the CD single a few bloody years ago! The CD single is virtually the same as the CD album but not with as many tracks on it! Nobody wants them, they'd rather have the whole CD album. My missus is a great CD lover and hardly ever bought a CD single, she alway's waited for the album to come out. I don't think the CD album will die out and be replaced by mp3's, for some maybe, but most people want something physical that they can hold in their hands and look at/read (the booklets you get with CD albums are great). Vinyl is SEXY and always will be, my 2 teenage daughters love the L.Ps (they're not too keen on the 45's) and one is already going on about buying some decks when she gets her own pad, competition!! Go into HMV and you can buy almost any current album in vinyl format.

Cd Swap May 2008
Fingers! You got your lines mixed up pal! 'My Heart Is Calling' by Jackie Wilson is NO WAY the same as the Magnificents on Dee Gee, get your stubs outta your ears my dear boy! Anyway, that aside, I now see where you're coming from re- Alt take, which usually means an alternate take to the artists' own cut/still in the can version! You ask if my album only Cds come from my own collection, the answer is definitely yes! You ask Perry about my soul/motown/reggae/ska L.P collection....probably the finest in East Anglia (apart from yours.... ). I look forward to your CD mate and I've p.m'd my address to you ok. All the best mate, John

Pies & Prejudice - Russ & Richard
That reminds me of a book I picked up recently about Wigan Athletic Football Club, it quotes that Wigan is more famous for 'Northern Soul' than football! I had to laugh.

Settle An Argument
Was popular during the timescale you mention, but not 'massive'. Also done by the Yum Yums.
