Will This Keep You Out Of Northern Soul Heaven?
what color is the label? if it's white you can erase it with a regular pink eraser. That wouldn't be hiding anything, it would be restoring the label. If you got a book restorer to match the label color and color over the writing, I think that would classify as a permanent change that is also a restoration. I personally wouldn't do the stars, it involves defacing the record more to cover up previous defacing, and stickers can fall off. I know that this isn't like rock solid reasoning, but at least it's not the "OVO" debate.

Mr Lucky
also, did anyone see the weird press on ebay recently, it was the same recordings as the lucky jamal davis big city record but later released as Jamal D and Dollar Sign.
-
Mr Lucky
his youtube page was funny as he ripped other people's youtube videos of his records. it would be funny if someone complained. I have a copy of the first invincibles on stardom on the early orange label that mr lucky is on. I like how the invincibles formed their own label so they could bootleg their own recordings.

Help Wanted With A Couple Of Labels
I also have 1005, it's a red label, I have two pressings of it, one side is different. one of the pressings has a nice cover of the temptations my girl. Neither is on my shelf which means I have to dig for it in some to-be-filed boxes.

Help Wanted With A Couple Of Labels
I don't have that one sorry. I have little joe cook on two-jay 1001 though.

What'S Your 'Jewel In The Crown?'
it's a cover of the daylighters cool breeze which was a big hit in chicago. i'm pretty sure i have it in two label colors, so now you have to get both of those . gregory washington was a guitarist who played on a lot of things, his sister is cynthia washington who was lead of Silk on Nation.

The Faces Label
it seems like no matter what evidence you present to the contrary, people will still talk and say someone has quantity on a 45. even if you have 2 trashed copies that you've sold, somehow you have a box.

Best Collection Ever? In Your Opinion
wrong, all countries that are not the US are the UK
-
North Bay Label Discog
yes, the gamble press is the same recording but a second label. the title I've seen most on this label is the mellow moods (great female sweet soul)
-
The Faces Label
in my experience, this has been the most common title on the label that I've seen
-
Best Collection Ever? In Your Opinion
if I ever visit the UK will he let me see his collection? it sounds incredible (I don't collect cigars though but that is cool).
-
Best Collection Ever? In Your Opinion
which post above is jealous? i'm not seeing it. instead I'm seeing responses to what steve g correctly describes as "a meaningless thread." There are some qualities which I think describe the attitude of a "serious" collector but naming a specific person is impossible and pointless. Who determines the criteria for "best"? That said, that 82000 piece collection, if it really exists as described, blows my mind.

Godfather Strivers
no, long 45s aren't good. they are pressed at a low volume and sound bad. Any marks / wear makes them unplayable as instead of light crackle it will be crackle that overwhelms the music. Long LPs suck too. the other reason the a-side is short is because it's a radio edit. they would not play a 7 minute long song on r&b radio
-
Godfather Strivers
aren't there a zillion records like this? I think it just has to do with the song being too long for a side.
-
Godfather Strivers
i knew they were from louisville but didn't know about the other connections, crazy. thanks for the info.

Missing 45 From The States. This Time Ebay Help Needed
you should 100% put in the dispute before the 45th day. Just say the package did not arrive. At that point paypal is not taking any action, it just initiates communication between you and the seller. It buys you more time. Paypal will only start to take action (probably giving your money back) after you escalate the dispute to a claim. If you're currently communicating with the seller on good terms you can even tell them you're putting in a paypal dispute just so you don't miss the window but don't plan to escalate it to a claim. Maybe on the 44th day put in the dispute.
