yes, I think the label is DV. Very obscure record.

I have a record by a "real" wendy andrews, pretty nice unknown midtempo cut with male group backing called "my man is gone"
  3. thanks a lot, I appreciate it. clearly not all copies are heat damaged. But now I would like to know if anyone else has one and it's pitted or not, would tell me whether the two I have is just a coincidence or not.
  4. thanks let me know
  5. thanks, one of the copies i have is pretty clean and plays great but has visible pitting in the wax. does your copy not have this? another weird thing about this record is that the grooves start very close to the edge of the 45.
  6. ok, i know that this might be pointless to ask this since there aren't that many known copies of this record... today i picked up a double of this. both my copy and this copy (which play fine) have some sort of heat damage, there is some sort of pitting in the vinyl. can anyone here that has a copy tell me whether there appears to be some sort of pitting / heat damage in the vinyl? I'm wondering if this has something to do with the rarity of the record? thanks in advance.
  7. are you talking about the banning of all modern soul from sales?
  8. boba replied to a post in a topic in Look At Your Box
yeah they don't actually sound very different to me. i would understand if the producer had something to do with it, he would maybe be trying to make some money off a failed production that he lost money on that had become popular and was selling for $$$. But I don't see any info on the label about this being licensed (was it)? Bootlegging a record and remixing it is more lame than just bootlegging a record.
  9. I have more info now on the enchanted five and ultimates. Enchanted Five is Donnie Scales, later of Segments Of Time on Sussex; Jimmy Radford, Alvin Freeman, brothers Earl Riley and Ray Riley (deceased). Earl Riley and Jimmy Radford were later of The Ultimates on Br-roma. Ultimates on Br-roma is: Nathanial Haden (lead); Jimmy Radford and Earl Riley, both formerly of The Enchanted Five; plus one unknown member. Also, Now on Now might be the same group as the ultimates.
  10. if you hear something that sounds like a harpsichord in a soul song it's probably a clavinet: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clavinet
  11. no, i haven't had the energy to figure out the XML yet. i'm sure it's not even very hard.

i've never seen this on with that color, must be rare
  13. thanks everyone. someone pmed me and said someone I know knows how to do it, i will bring one to them the next time i see them and report back here if i find out a way. thanks.
  14. Does anyone know if there's a straightforward way to remove those old metal 45 snap-in adapters that you find in 45s sometimes? obviously without breaking the inner vinyl. thanks in advance,.

  19. I like the flip "no one". My favorite by far though is "underneath my makeup"
  20. 23 is Vicki Anderson - Wide awake in a dream - Deluxe that track you posted on the other thread doesn't even sound like soul to me
  21. track 4 is Velvetones - I want him so bad - Ascot track 18 is Radiants - one day I'll show you - chess
  22. Thanks. I have a couple of their records and remember them being girls, I have to relisten I guess.
  23. yeah. there is a myth about getting to use 2 bars or 4 bars free as a sync or sample, obviously not true
  24. Can anyone give me info on the Pitter Pats on instant? Googling reveals statements saying that it is huey smith under another name. While Huey Smith clearly produced and performed with them, it was a girl group, so clearly it's not Huey Smith. Does anyone have any real info on this? Thanks a lot.
  25. I think the blue one is first, based on the catalog number, 7071-22 vs. 7101-7 not sure though
