the story with this is that alvin cash bootlegged his own LP and was selling it in local record stores even in the late 90s pretty much until he died. actual originals have good sound quality, his bootlegs don't.
  2. i had an ad in the paper for maybe 3 years and never felt threatened in the way you are describing and I'm in Chicago. I also didn't really have any big scores though so it's not like it was "worth it" but i built up a lot of my collection.

  9. I was just looking at the record a few months ago and had noticed it was ohio, I don't think there is much "known" about the group in the collecting community at least so it would be interesting to find out what you find out. Thanks.
  10. you could try calling carl maduri, there is some contact info on the internet, for example: https://herorecordsllc.com/contactUs.html

this record is very rare and never shows up clean, you'll be waiting an extremely long time if you want a mint one, it's not like the montclairs or other records in that other thread

Hi, i have two questions: 1. what is the title of the flip of virginia blakely on mojo 2. does johnny burton have a record on a label called "mel-tone" or titles "comin home"? if so, can someone give me a listing with label # and full titles? Thanks.

threads won't bump in sales so you're better off posting a new thread (I just saw this because you were the last poster).

maybe it was new york and everything got licensed from chicago maybe? I know bobby franklin is a detroit artist but he worked with eddie thomas, etc., this is just a guess but everything might have been via eddie.
  24. i don't know what gets played at your club but it sounds like the meridians on parnaso

i'm not sure this is the same lakeside label despite being from chicago. it might be connected but i think it's not. anyways, maurice jackson lucky fellow got reissued on the same lakeside label as willie williams.
