E Bay Blues
there is no reason for you to not initiate a paypal dispute NOW, which doesn't do anything and which is like a warning to the seller. You can then escalate it to a claim if he doesn't respond. Doing it makes it less likely the seller will blow you off. You also need to do it soon because there is a time limit after the auction during which you can file the claim.

Flame N King & Vontastics
i am trying to set up a vontastics interview on my radio show (www.sittinginthepark.com), I'm currently in contact with the guitarist. Bobby Newsome was Bobby James on Karol, by the way, Mark Bicknell has posted some letter he got from him here a few times.

Jewels - Mislabeled Single
I think I know this but I'm not sure but I can't think of what it is. I like it. I'm 100% sure someone on the spectropop list would know right away, I will let you know if I think of it or hopefully someone here thinks of it. Thanks.

Chicago Twinight Revue In April 2009
Not convenient for most people in the UK, but if anyone is coming already for "soultrip" and for some reason staying extra long, you might want to check this out. Saturday April 4th 2009, there is going to be a live show in Chicago with: Syl Johnson Nate Evans The Notations Renaldo Domino Kaldirons Final Solution https://numerogroup.com/catalog_detail.php?uid=00942# I'm guessing this will sell out, anyone around Chicago at the time should try to go.

Jewels - Mislabeled Single
i've never heard of this mispress (and there are many presses of opportunity as it was a hit, for example, on styrene, vinyl, etc.). if you post audio of the mispress i might be able to identify it.

Sitting In The Park 1-11-2009
what's up eli, let me know if you want to see whpk again. it's funny, i'm setting up an interview with a group now that said that their first interview they did in the 70s after they released their record was on WHPK.

Speechless
I did not know that, I have done a refund 3-4 times when I have sold and I rarely have money in my account but maybe I hadn't yet spent the money at that time? Thanks for the info.
-
Speechless
while that buyer was ridiculous, for future reference you can do a refund (partial or full) on the original paypal payment which will result in the buyer being not charged fees and which will also recover your fees

Speechless
most people's "bargain prices" here are rarely bargains

'raven' Label
i think this group is also from virginia but I'm not 100% sure, they have at least one other record that is rock on another label (it's a blue label i'm not remembering what it is right now).

New To Soul. Struggling To Find New Artists
it sounds like your tastes are not well formed enough for me to know exactly what to recommend, but it seems like maybe you prefer 'deep soul', you could look at the deep soul thread in the media section

Info On This 45 Anyone? Rarity? Price Etc?
especially hard to get ahold of if it's unreleased, according to: https://www.soulfulkindamusic.net/johnnyjoe.htm johnny and joe had a massive hit with "over the mountain, across the sea"

January's Begging Bowl
I think so. But like I said there's no "label", it's one of those shitty bell things where it's printed on the styrene if I remember correctly. It's definitely not white label at least.
-
January's Begging Bowl
I'll do the majestics for you tonight, I have it on one of those bell printed-on-styrene presses (which I think is the most common form of it).

Anyone Know Thorsten Zinkler?
you used to be able to remove negative feedback, you can't anymore

You'd Never Get Away With It Nowadays
i know the scene you're talking about... bald heads in R&B predate that song though, one of the treniers famous records is "bald head"

Killer 30 Second Intro
the longest intro that I hear weekly on commercial radio is lamont dozier's trying to hold on to my woman, the intro is way better than the song. another good one is tom brock - if we can't make it then nobody can. and the lp version of i wanna do something freaky to you. i guess lots of 70s commercial soul was all about long intros.

You'd Never Get Away With It Nowadays
obviously steely dan is famous for that, but i always thought that the defonics "seventeen" was pretty disturbing.
