Rhetta Hughes Writer Credit Required
I don't know who he is (I think he was just a writer who worked a bunch with Jo Armstead), but his name is James Louis Venson, he wrote a bunch of Jo Armstead / Giant tracks. If you search BMI, you'll see some of the other cuts he wrote.

Ernestine Eady & Imperial C's On Ebay
I guess if you're willing to pay money for the negative it would work, I didn't realize you were actually doing that. You're a very vengeful person!

Ernestine Eady & Imperial C's On Ebay
people always say this but this isn't true either, if you read the ebay policy it's "about" 90 days, they're unintentionally vague about it because they want to prevent feedback sniping. I think they even extend the time to respond to feedback once you get feedback on an item. Do a web search for feedback sniping, they're a lot of discussions about this. If the seller is flaky and takes a while to respond in general, it might work, but there's no like small window you can leave feedback that will not leave time to respond.

That won't work. The feedback system favors the seller. If the seller files a non-payment notice on the item, the feedback is removed. Unless you intend to actually pay for the fake item you bid on, your feedback will be quickly removed.

What´s Good On Jeree
jbc band on jeree = awesome and unknown. I'm a sweet soul collector but it would also be of interest to funk / modern collectors. all three THAT records on jeree are not bad.

Ernestine Eady & Imperial C's On Ebay
Hi Phil. I'm in Chicago. I'm not disagreeing with you, I was trying to give more evidence supporting your case. I think part of the reason he was quick to refund and not rude to me was that I called him up right away and was clearly pissed -- i.e., it wasn't some anonymous internet transaction at that point (I guess it could also be that I'm in the US). I believe your story. I also never leave negative feedback as it messes up my feedback -- it's usually pretty clear what the real story is from the few negatives people have already (although I have dealt with a few horrible graders that had 100% feedback). Thanks. Bob

The Girls "the Hurts Still Here" (memphis)
Hi Sean. I don't know right now, I'm still digging into Ardell gardens stuff, will post when I get more info. A few other ardell gardens groups/artists were the wasters / dynamic heartbeats, shades of brown, ralph johnson (his doowop group was the de'bonairs on ping), plus a few more I'm not thinking of now.

The Girls "the Hurts Still Here" (memphis)
the Girls were from Ardell gardens, housing directly south of Chicago, which is where the Lovelites and Cheers were from, along with a bunch of other Chicago groups. NOT from Memphis ... other people who are from the same area told me about them.

Ernestine Eady & Imperial C's On Ebay
I bought from this seller once. It was irma and the fascinators on scepter. Graded VG++. I got the record. Visually it was okay, but it was unplayable, as the styrene was totally shot and the noise overpowered the music. I was pissed and called him on the phone. I sent it back for a full refund and I think he refunded shipping too. It was more annoying at that time because he didn't take paypal and I had to go through getting a money order to pay him initially (I got a check back as a refund). He wasn't rude to me, though. Either way, his reserves on stuff are ridiculous, especially given the condition.

Bobby Mcnutt
Bobby McNutt is from East St. Louis, which is not "windy city soul" but at least is from the same state

The Charades
Charades on Okeh and MGM were definitely the same group. Charades on Mercury and Harlem Hitparade are definitely the same group (the harlem hitparade LP is all unreleased Mercury stuff). Don't know if the mercury group is the same as MGM. Poets on Red Bird became the main ingredient and are NOT the Poets on Symbol.

Karl Tarleton/andre Williams
their joint production team was "jojo productions". They took on the pseudonyms of hammer and nail for some of their writings. Listen to the wasters interview on my site for a few details...

Fabulous Dimensions
here's my demo. I always find it on yellow for some reason (still don't have it on red), but the Tenth Dimensions is always red.

Digging In Baltimore Md
I went to the arbutus show a couple of years ago, it totally sucked. Maybe it was because I wasn't there super early, but other people told me it used to be much better. I did meet a couple of dealers that I had only dealt with on ebay before, though.

Timothy Wilson - Sky Disc - How To Tell An Original ?
I had a reverse situation once too. I bought a moovers "someone to fulfill my needs" on deep city from a UK seller (I'm in the US). There was no photo in the auction. I sent it back as a bootleg because the label on that totally looks like a bootleg (it's like all block text with no deep city logo). The seller was like "I didn't know it had been booted" and gave my money back. I found out later that it WAS an original. I don't remember who it was, but I apologize to whoever it was if they're on here. I wish I still had the title, still need it.

Timothy Wilson - Sky Disc - How To Tell An Original ?
I got burned on ebay on this a year ago, I bought it from some German seller and bought manship's bootleg guide 3 months later. Of course the guy wouldn't take it back (even though the picture was still up and it was not an og from the photo).

Jean Battle On Shiptown
my copy has "unsatisfied woman" on the flip credited to BARBARA STANT but the soul harmony singles book lists it as crediting JEAN BATTLE. I've seen it your way before. Not sure which one is rarer. I love the cut "you know that I love you".

Wanted: The Spoilers "sad Man's Land" On Turbo
No. The spoilers on tobin/turbo is new york / new jersey. The spoilers who did "spoilers rap" is the persuasions on erica, from Chicago. The persuasions on erica has "Summer Ride" on the a-side. Leading that group is Larry Johnson, who was also lead of the Majestic Arrows, Elevation, and who was a member of the doowop group the moroccos and who was in an 80s version of the el doradoes. He's also a different Larry Johnson than the person who was with the Artistics.

Wanted: The Spoilers "sad Man's Land" On Turbo
The Tobin release is totally different, though, and (IMHO) way inferior to the Turbo one. It's not just a different mix, it sounds almost like a different group singing. The Tobin release almost sounds like a White group. It's worth getting, but the Turbo one is way better, at least if you're a sweet soul collector. The Tobin record also came out on Blue and Yellow labels, I think the Yellow is rarer.

Vikings - Heartaches (don't Last Forever)
The book lists the a-side as "never seen a stranger". It must be a ballad side since the book lists it as the a-side (even though the side you posted is the "real" a-side as it shows up as a double sided promo).
-
Vikings - Heartaches (don't Last Forever)
this turns up occasionally, but I've always seen it as a double-a side (so I avoided buying it), but the soul harmony singles book has this listed with a flip. I've never seen it as an issue with the flip. I haven't been looking really hard, though.

Northern Soul Birthday Tunes
Baby Washington has a happy birthday record on Chess, she's singing about how she's sad to not be with her man on his birthday. There is a birthday record by a group called "friends." There's also Stevie Wonder's big hit in the US in the 80s.

Wanted And Info
That record is hard to find. I have an acetate that I bought off of the producer, who is Stormy (the guy who recorded on Twinight). Still don't have an original. The girls singing background on that record and on the other star-vue 45 are the Lovelites.

Got To Find A Way Out - The Mar-j's
If it is, the website is wrong. I live in Chicago. Magic Touch was based in Chicago in the late 70s (and possibly the early 60s) but the label owner, Lenny Lacour was primarily Milwaukee based. It was based solely in Milwaukee around the time that the Mar-Js was released. There is a photo of the Mar-Js in some Milwaukee soul comp. Either way, it's a great record and I hope you sell it.

Moods - Rainmaker
I asked Philly expert Dave Brown about this a while back, he says John Madera told him that the Moods have absolutely no connection to the Volcanos (which I know everyone from the collector community thinks) but that they ARE the same group as the Chargers on Vanguard.
