Hi Mark Not sure if this will help but gives a good example of a terms and conditions for hiring out the premises at a leisure centre in Harlow - liability and health and safety are mentioned here. Obvioulsly the club you hired did not show you or ask you to sign for anything like this. I have run soul nites here in stockport on numerous ocassions and never even given this a thought.... Occupiers Liability Act springs to mind having studied civil law as a module in my degree a few years back.
