  1. Been lots of talk about this on here in the past - was it a "ready made", origins etc. Whilst stuff like that is immensely interesting and I enjoy all the history I am a simple man - I like it or I don't. Another non obscure record - pretty cheap still I think £20ish. Fitted in well in the early 80's and still sounds goood to me. I think mine came from John Anderson. Anway.................lets have you on that dance floor carpet! Cheryl Berdell Giving it all to You Peter
  2. Nice record Swifty. You can always give one away - you'll still have two! Peter
  3. I don't know ought about it. Certainly not enough to write it off as shite. Peter
  4. Gladys Knight has some interest in a soul food shack with her nephew. I saw it on Man v Food on the fooodie channel. Gladys could fry some good old chicken, fries and slaw for the evening. Gladys, get chip pan on love!
  5. Whenever I went to the Fleet - and it wasn't often, I was ill! Went with those naughty boys from Boston, and a few from Skegness. The last bus home the next day - the Grayscroft from skegness was like the Gravescroft. On me tod, dark and feeling like shit. Peter
  6. Yep late 70's and maybe's very early 80's. Reminds me of Cleethorpes too - might have been Sam at the all dayers. Peter
  7. Got this somewhere I think Pete - It's good. Mm, might have to retract that - could be on a cd. Nice though. You're taking records out like there's no tomorrow - I blew all mine up with the gas explosion. Why, did I bring that up - the flash backs will be back with a vengance! :sweatingbullets: LOL
  8. Yep, great stuff Steve. Gene might be a big name in some circles - I reckon he's a tad under rated. And my mate did play drums for him! LOL Peter
  9. Been digging around my spare room for stuff. I know I'm not as good as you guys with lesser known stuff - but this is good IMO. Oscar Perry - love the name Oscar, has some good stuff to his name - this is my favourite. Main String - let's be having yer! Proper soul music this - don't it make you feel good, having someone to love you. Peter
  10. Does anyone know how much money is neede prior to that deadline in early November? I couldn't see anything in the linked article. Thanks Peter
  11. Not from what I've heard Paul. There was talk of some spanking with a wet womans weekly a while back - but that was a completely different thread! Peter
  12. I just sent a something request on FB - err, can I join sort of thing! Don't really do much FB but I'll dip my toe in if they'll ave me! LOl Peter
  13. I didn't know half of that! That's why I like you Mr Hampsey - you are indeed awful! But I like you! LOL
  14. I shall give it a whirl Melly. Took me fecking long enough to get there - it would be a crime not too! Peter
  15. You have some very, very handsome records Sean. I like the look of that. Mm, just noticed it was produced by Eugene Record - must be the same Over Dose of Joy guy - that's a nice record too. Peter
  16. Bless you Len That's a lovely positive post.
  17. Melly I managed to log in - even joined up, got mesen a new name, and everything. Been sat in that fecking chat room for hours - on me own, no fecker to chat to. Been talking to mesen - no fecker has even had the decency to say hello! It's a killer loneliness, a killer! LOL
  18. Absolutely Roger. It's strange - perverse really, that even way back then there were things that I thought, mm, that's awful - but as a new kid on the block you daren't say so. Things like Black Power, the Mickey Mouse thing - they were quite big records in the late 70's when I started out. I've never really understood them - and not sure that I ever will. Some of the other stuff though was sheer stupidity and naivety - Gladys Knight is superb - as is Freda Payne. We sort of get there in the end. Peter
  19. I'll ask Mike for some more
