  1. Hey Gary - beautiful track, great soul music. Peter
  2. Nice one Martyn - I love both albums and I'm having to restrain myself from posting up all the tracks from both. I remember the summer of 86 (could be a year or two out) driving to niters in my mates MGB with the roof down banging out Poet II. Great times. Bobby is the king and I agree - both of these albums are up there with the best. Peter
  3. And my pick from the first Poet album - Secrets
  4. One from me - take your pick from probably two of the best albums of the 80's. The great Bobby Womack and his Poet I and Poet II albums. Patti La Belle in great form too. Through the Eyes of a Child. Peter
  5. Yes, fantastic record. Peter
  6. Thanks Matt Some nice stuff there - as per! Top man. Peter
  7. Probably my first all niter - 1979 I think. Chris King was DJing cos he picked me and me mate up in his merecedes convertible as we were thumbing it home in the morning - bollocked me mate for slamming the car door! Not sure who else was on - we met up with the Lincoln crew. Had me first 3 back street blues and was off my trolley dancing on a packed dance floor to the likes of So Is The sun, Statue, Up and Over, Walk in My Shoes, If you can't say anything nice. etc. Well, that's how I remember it - it was a long time ago. Peter
  8. Absolutely agree. Sir Dickie everytime.
  9. I knew you'd be lurking somewhere Smiffy.
  10. Go on then. LOL
  11. Yep, there were loads like this at the time. Big, big records with a very short shelf life. A similar example being the great Tommy Tate one hundred mile an hourer - You taught me how to love.
  12. Yep, cracker this. Peter
  13. Not a rock - but a stone! Stone Crush on You - O T Sykes. Could be the name of a new move! Peter
  14. Mm, learning all the time! Never really apppreciated - nor heard much of, Darrow Fletcher. What a distinctive and soulful voice - right up my street with those midtempo danceable tunes. Peter
  15. Nice one Martyn Really like that - fantastic vocals. Peter
  16. I am a member who had a period of absence - there were lots of changes when I returned and I thought I would struggle. Soon got up to speed and things that I use work for me ok.
  17. Well done Mike.
  18. I presume Seaman isn't your real name then Ian - that would be too coindidental. And bumped yer thread! Mm, I m ight get told off for that.
  19. Then the other thread is not to believed - cos those three are infinitely better than this Pete Judd shite!
  20. It's fecking orrible - are you takin the piss!
  21. Interesting view Pete - still does it for me. Not heard it played for years - but full blast out of a decent system, or at home - love it. I'm not doing very well on this thread - I'm just disagreeing!
