  1. Yes! the CD is a 2 disc box set with alternaive takes of some stuff.
  2. Pete I put a sound file up the other day of a third mix of this, thats what I was refering to in the last post.
  3. Did you know that the average speed to play these 45's is 45 and not 33.
  4. I found out that other version is not by Ian Levine its is nothing to do with him what soever it was mixed by the owner of the label Lew Badell and it is only included on a JoeBoy CD with some Ian Levine tracks. Record is now straight..
  5. Is this a good price for the record or an acetate or the acetate.
  6. I found a female version of Johnnie Mae Matthews..I Have No Choice, on an acetate this morning in amongst the ? if I know why it was put Thats Pure Magic and so is this What have you found and where.
  7. I cannie find it have you got the link. TIA
  8. The X in the dead wax is the Factory's stamp so technically the disc is stamped or raised Xed.
  9. Yes but I am sure about the styrene one I had as well being ok dead wax reads Dukoff
  10. Hi Ady Is my story right you were there when I bought it at the Dome. Didn't you sell that Red issue to Sam.
  11. There is a styrene copy as well, I had one got a vinyl compared them and they were the same long track and small dead wax.
  12. I thought they looked the same both glossy or matt its just in the matrix both Monarch but its the shorter number Oh! and a small dead wax.. I got this from a stash of records from a guy who died in 1970 and all he had was promos, think h took them round the shops, it has a green date at the top on one side I think so not only the year but I also give you the day and month.
  13. Paid 240 for mine unplayed demo 8 years ago.
  14. Red one Tony, seen that go for £450.00 or a demo. I only found out about the meal @ 6, but you were in the shower was it? dreadful day.
  15. Humm Sorry I take them out of my box, leave them at home Steve then see what's left to form a set around that.
  16. I like to know what every other DJ on the night has in his or her box, take out what they have and then see what happens.
  17. A red Eddy wow only seen the blue but a red Don's. Last 100 Keith played Don I left singing it down the street and few friends said you pissed or what. Both great versions if you have an Eddy you then need a Don like cheese and biscuits can't have one without the other. Do you think the Don's version is a vanity record like he wrote it and had to release it, I don't know the numbers if its the first issue or second to Eddy.
  18. I have a record by the guy from the Del Laks found tape and pressed up and it reminds me of that sort of sound. Glad you agree. Is this the same Bob Smith as The Bob Smith Orch? on first play it sounds like a Butch tune.

You wait mate next time I am let out I will play you some stuff that will make your toes curl (my lumber jack songs) clear the floor, I will clear bloody the street and a surrounding boroughs. There is a time and place for every record, if you surprise people with the likes of The Snake, Fortune Teller they can go down a storm.
  20. I like the Bob Smith but it looks and sounds like an old tape from the 70ts found and pressed up in the last few years.

Bood for playing bad records where was this.
  22. Promo, I think Rob Messer had it for more that week as well.
  23. From Kent its on one of their LP's. The best known and fondly remembered of Dore soul output was cut in 1966. The song came to the label via its writer Lou Baretto, Lew Badell could remember little about of Rita other than she was Italian/American but he distinctly remembers Lou Barreto who also introduced him to Bob Relf . Barreto famously recorded Blowing My Mind To Pieces and Lew went on to cut the master with Bob himself the tantalisingly named Red Alert sadly unreleased and even more sadly eluding us. Bob Relf found fame as Bob & Earl and in peculiar Northern Soul coincidence Lew also recorded Bobby Day, the original Bob of Bob && Earl. Lew cut two versions of GWTW at the original session a full take and the 45 issue.
