Anyone Seen This?
The error market. I bought this CD in error, it contains the artists Frank Wilson, Bobby Paris Maxine Brown etc but its all the same PC generated Motown mix so dissapointed.

Anyone Seen This?
Northern Soul is not a product that you can make its something that's found and not of the mainstream. Where will this get played ?, I can't see it being played at a 4 year olds birthday party.

Anyone Seen This?

Tommy Andre - One More Try
Thanks for that link Sebastian. I wonder if its a pressing plant cock up. Somebody should (like Manifesto) interview Mr Gardner he has a wealth of information to share. He told me years ago that he had built True Glow Town studios, it was wood and burnt down and that he had played the drums on My Baby like to Boogaloo, great facts.

The Dome & The Boys
I think I can say The Dome stands alone in it's own right, when you try and compare it to other venues like the Mecca. The Mecca was a different buzz altogether and a very different dance style especially with the main funk room over spill. With Scene Ville, 100 Club and The Dome at that time there was a strong healthy Competition of tunes, I remember DJ's from all the clubs standing at the edge of the dance floor waiting for the next Andy Rix acetate, the Dave Flynn cover up, Butch's latest a great time to be had in London. Not sure but Greg's radio show could have something to do with the acceleration of the scene.

Tommy Andre - One More Try
So are they two different records all together or just different versions it sounds like its called Hold Back The Tears. As for the Don thing, I collect his records going back to 1953 and I am sure I would spot him in a snow storm but nothing on paper.

Levine Manifesto Interview
The Dome, never missed one of them, Greg, Carl, Dave, Alan fantastic line up with a superb mix of tastes, but to get one of the DJ's to play a record that's an out and out boot from the core and to try and pass it off as a valid entity is just taking the piss out of us all, VERY SAD

Don Gardner

Is This A Counterfiet ?
It just to say that the records was not of fantastic quality from day one and to have a counterfeit pressing, manufactured on inferior vinyl that apparently isn't of the regular Motown standard you would expect to be of poor sound quality as well, but I see what you mean about the print being strange and not very clear. I have been checking my Motown singles, I must admit its not a record label that I collect doubles of and have come a cross some interesting differences like my Eddie Holland with a Nashville and an ARP stamped in the dead wax but no logo at the bottom of the label, quiet a selection. I always thought C was for copy rite and p was for a re print or second issue? About the recording and loss of tapes I read it in a Mowtown book that also went on about some guy who had invented a 3 track recorder and amps that had a habit of bursting into flames from heat from bad cables.

Is This A Counterfiet ?
Not sure if I have eve seen a Monarch Motown press, seen a Howard Guyton styrene issue
