Anita Anderson On Contact
Hi Bobo, just been listening to the Opals radio interview, I had thought when I heard one of their earlier tracks on Okeh that they could have been The Vonnettes. The track on Cobblestone has the same bass line as Sandi Sheldon on Okeh Your Gonna Make Me Love You (Van McCoy) on both tracks but probably not. Great to hear so much back ground info on artists and the recording sessions, invaluable. Thanks. Tony

Anita Anderson On Contact
The Anita Anderson record is Despenza, she just wasn't in the ivories. So the track was recorded with Despenza, Berry played drums? I have I dig you baby by Loraine Ellison like the other version. Seems so strange that there is a limited amount of copies on both labels when there was so much interest. Great interview.

Was Paulette on the same label, Anita is the singer in a band called The Ivories on Wand or Despanza.

Mr Tears Paris On 4j
If they were so big on the beach scene maybe they spent more time in LA, tried a solo venture on tour. He left the group in 1968 so is Paris his earlier recordings he only joined the band in 1966. Great production on that Mr Tears only difference from the other stuff are violins and girls. If he is still around ask him only Tempest on tour I can find is a Punk Indi band.

Mr Tears Paris On 4j
I know I was wrong about the Sandi Sheldon being in The Vonnettes (its the singer from The Opals) but the Van McCoy bit was right for the base line. Mr Tears its him, sorry no bender last night no 6ts allnighter. Any one got the b-side to sound file out of interest.

Mr Tears Paris On 4j
Its Mr Tears innit? on 4J Never heard this before seen it loads of times. If its the same guy as the Doc record and it sounds like, then this is the great Hazel Martin for sure.

Thursday Beat Ballads
Thanks for your time to listen Steve, I love the record it gets better every time I play it, pleased to share it. Tony. PS the B-side is a bit Pat Boon but with the Shep voice, it looks to be an Eddie Singleton record, makes sense with the Shrine connection.

Thursday Beat Ballads
Sheppard Grant's awesome beat ballad of the highest quality from one of Ray Pollards backing singers in The Wanderers. Not played the B-side yet.

Thursday Beat Ballads
Try this an alternate version the best in my mind goes on a bit longer and a dryer mix. Shorter versin was released on UK Atlantic single with Its Amazing Wheres_The_Girl.mp3

Any Day Now-Dee Dee Sharp. I sang this at a Karaoke night once, not as good as this, I think I tried for a Chuck Jackson thing only Northern track I could find.
