  1. I think both sides of Milton Wright 7" are quality but check out on lp:my ole lady Boba, that might be more your thing. I was on the rare groove/2 step in early/mid 80`s and apart from tracks aready mentioned here`s a few more: Doin alright-0`bryan.(2 step) Turned onto you-80`s Ladies.(Rare groove/2 step) Open up your heart-Barkays.(2 step) It`s just the way i feel-Gene Dunlap(2 step) Windy city theme-Carl Davis and the Chi -Sound(Big Norman jay Rare groove tune) I don`t know if you can make it-Dawson Smith.(Rare Groove). Evil Vibrations-Mighty Ryeders(Rare groove) Turn off the lights-Larry Youngs Fuel.(Rare Groove) The above were played to death on radio/club land but i also liked the more collectors stuff on that scene which went under the radar except for those in the know

A friend who still does the Kilburn Fairs has well raids that and Camden every other day.He gets lucky every now and again but it`s once a month. He gave up last month after nothing for 3 months . I gave up looking in there early 2yk,last good thing i found in Notting Hill Gate was touching and caring-Nina Simone lp for a £5 .Used to be also good for soulful house 12"s if you got the patience to go thou thousands of 12"s.Yea you be right re that statement about Northern at Stamford bridge lol.
  8. Yes still there but Roger only opens on Fri/Sat/Sun after 10/11am i think. It`s only a 10/15 minute walk from Chelsea Stadium. There`s a few record shops in Notting Hill gate like record exchange if you don`t mind jumping on the tube/Bus to travel to it.

  20. If you don`t mind walking,i recommend you start at London Eye on South Bank/Westminster Bri and walk all the way to Tower Bridge. If you go on a Sat/Sun there`s usually a French Market and loads of things going on near Royal Festive Hall(check time mag or Tfl website)for details. There`s plenty of pubs/Restaurants on the way. Around back of London Bridge,Vinopolis(Wine Museum),Clink prison(london`s first prison if memory serves me right),the Golden Hind boat,Southwark Cathedral(if Churchs are your thing)and Borough market(worth checking out on Sat morning),there`s 2 really good pubs for real ale if that`s your poison(can`t think of there names). At Tower Bridge, check out Shad Thames for restaurants, you can have a meal overlooking the Thames. There`s also some good pubs just off which serve decent beer. You have the Design Museum there has well. Also worth getting on the boat which takes you up the Thames to Greenwich/Thames Barrier etc.where there`s loads of things to explore if History is ya thing. If you walk over Tower Bridge, you have Tower of london(you won`t miss it) I``d get an oyster card so you can use public transport/boats otherwise you have agro trying to pay cash on public transport. i`ll try and think of some more later on.
  21. Fair points Ian: Re cd`s,yes the jap. ones seem to hold there price better than the u.s.but compare it with Vinyl and vinyl holds it`s price better(give or take the odd records). Not that it matters to me cos i won`t be selling any of my music what ever format Good point re-Flood/Fire,if my records get flooded i would be very worried for rest of London cos i live 3 floors up on top floor .I think law of averages say you got more chance of your computer crashing than a fire, touch wood. My wife is a mp3/down load junkie, have told her to back up her music, she won`t listen
  22. I hope so I still buy the odd cd but i find they jam/skip in the cab and it drives me mad.Especailly when there recorded on cheap cds. For me you can`t beat the old fashioned way of actually holding a 7"/lp vinyl and the smell .For our scene i think it will always be vinyl, look at sales for cd`s on another forum and 2/3 sellers were struggling to sell older cds for under a fiver I think if you collect cds your in for bargain time, they don`t hold there price cos not many people want that format. Now downloads, wav files or what ever there called...i`m not into new technology and quiet frankly am not interested in learning.i know it works for a lot of people and fair play to them but i what if your computer crashes or a virus hits your computer? I know you can have a back up but seems like a lot of hassle to me. Each to there own..
  23. See them earlier this year in Jan at Jazz cafe. They were really good, worth checking out
