  8. LOL BACK in 75 The boys who were behind most of the Football stuff in Peterborough during those days managed to get into an all-nighter at the Wirrina, one guys pays and he opens the fire exits and 40 odd piles in, off their tits on Ben Truman/Red barrel and french blues. I clocked them at about 3am and remember approaching Colin Bullivant from The Dogsthopre (an old Torch guy who enjoyed his beer and other but the knuckle was his baby) he informed me that some of the NS crowd had sold some poor gear earlier on in the night and the football boys were hell bent on revenge. as my spot was 6am I fooked off home to get out the way, a nice chin wag with the now Mrs and we returned at 5-30.. Dave Mindham advised me that chairs were thrown at 4am ish and Sam was not impressed..happy days.

  10. ADi when was the casino bust up..1974 or 5? wasn't that the night Mick Smith went into Bruce Lee mode..PMSL.
  11. the best NS scrap EVER was when Wigan Rugby League 1st team 'somehow' got into the Casino. It kicked off big time in the upstairs area, Peter Widdison?? hit this prop forward from the rear with a casino chair, it broke into a 1000's pieces and the bloke just turned round with a "who the f*** did that' glare. Bloker from Peterborough hit this bloke with the best right hander ever, it broke two bones in his hand..pmsl I don't know what happend next as I was under a table as if a H bomb was going to be dropped on Station Rd any minute. I have it on very good authority that a certain Harboro Horace did some dancing that night ...lol
  12. O mean top dollar, ie the going rate a for what was a nice £20 record 12 months ago as is now overpriced at £50...
  13. Jesse Fisher - You're Not Loving A Beginer. email PaulDonnellyBP@aol.com or PM top dollar paid, thanks.
  14. 1- The Casino for the first 12 months imo was the best ever Nothern Soul venue ever. 2- Imo the Scene did recover after the casion closed 3- Folk who are of an age that expereinced the Casino should feel privaleged though to the best of my knowledge Ive never suggested to anyone "if you didn't go blah blah blah" however Ive heard many folk slag the old stompng palace off who never actually went, strange.

there you have it ladies and gents,,,expect a knock up at 5am if you play this on vinyl anywhere.. certainly up there with the best 50 dicoveries over that last 15 years.
  19. How the hell did I miss this one, spot on mate. I walked out of Wigan in 1975 at 3am after hearing tv commercials being played and never went back however from the day those little doors swung open to late 74 the ammount of new stuff being played was incredible, if you missed a month you'd probably have missed 100's of new records that were dropped quickly due to various reasons. Its a new one on me, great Northern.
  20. Was it an actual record Kenny Barlow - "I'm losing your love" any help would be REALLY appreciated.
  21. along with Summer in the Parks and the Exodus gotta be one of the worst records ever to grace our wonderful scene. Mind you ALL three were floorfillers in 75...lol
