  1. Hmmm, only one I seem to have is a gray promo copy of 184...not one you're looking for. Thought I might have another, but it ain't turning up....
  2. Forgive me if this has already been discussed: https://motownjunkies.wordpress.com/index/ It's a site that intends to provide a lengthy review of every Motown recording released or planned for release on 45, and the writing and information is pretty good.
  3. Interesting distinction! Not sure I buy it.
  4. Nice record, but "Taking" side doesn't hold a candle to the Carol Anderson version IMO.
  5. Aren't the plain-label Tac-Ful copies without the football player allegedly "rarer"?
  6. This copy is a strong VG, just shy of VG+, on a scale without E grades (some would no doubt call it VG+). Glossy with just some very minor light scratches/scuffs. Plays great, perfect for dj'ing....Here's the recent ebay auction (not my copy!): https://tinyurl.com/yczgme9 $600, postage paid. Paypal only. Email to reserve: finewine@wfmu.org
  7. hmmm, that did pretty well in the auction, didn't it....well, i would consider letting mine go for a nice offer. it's a strong vg, just shy of vg+, on a scale without e grades (some would no doubt call it vg+). glossy with just some very minor light scratches/scuffs. plays great, perfect for dj'ing...
  8. i never asked an obvious question: it's not the j.j. barnes song 'get a hold of yourself,' right?
  9. the only other things i know of on the label are the celebrities and the infernos (which has 'lost love' instro on the flip), but this doesn't sound like either of those.
  10. sound clips might help!
  11. and while we're at it, I wouldn't mind Spider Turner on Master....
  12. No, thanks. I've had a copy for years...can't recall where or when I got it. It's obviously pretty rare. I brought it to Germany once for a DJ gig and a couple of the Hamburg guys seemed to know it, but otherwise I've never seen or heard any evidence of anyone else having or knowing it.
  13. Love this record. Don't think it really has an established value, as it's not in the guides and doesn't seem to be known to many....
  14. Just WASH the record before playing it, SolidSoul!
  15. So true!! I find that it actually seems to have some PROTECTIVE qualities. Just wash it off with some dishwashing solution and warm water, dry it with a paper towel, and you usually have a mint record on your hands.
  16. I go to Fort Myers every year and it's slim pickings indeed. About the worst place I've been to in the U.S. for finding 45s.
  17. Anyone know anything about her? I love "Surrender," her Mainstream single. Mine is a double A-sider; anyone heard the B? Who is she? Any other records? If you don't know it, I played it here, about 10 or 11 minutes in (use the pop-up player): https://wfmu.org/playlists/shows/33223 Thanks, M
  18. M-. Guaranteed original. Pink/blue labels. Pristine copy, one only. $600 U.S. includes postage anywhere. Paypal only. Email to reserve: finewine@wfmu.org
  19. Closing in one day. https://shop.ebay.com/soulbaby/m.html?_dmd=1&_ipg=50&_sop=12&_rdc=1

  21. i like that. recording sounds too "clean" for one-derful/mar-v-lus.
  22. What'd this go for, anyway? I've long had a 12-inch acetate, found in Detroit, with 6 songs on it that include both sides of the Bernie Moore 45 (possibly in a different/unfinished version, but I don't know, because I've never heard the 45 release) and both sides of the Vivian Jones on Lark. Can't recall what the 5th and 6th tracks are...
