    El corals is great not one you see too often. johns first guide had it at 30 quid which I always thought must have been a mistake as I never used to see it.

    Just watched part 1. Deaf subtitles should be optional not mandatory. They were too intrusive and are only helpful if you need them. it looks like iPlayer solves this so all good.

    Love the Joe hicks and when I was looking for records hardly ever saw it. Have copies come to light more recently so 2010 ish onwards ?

    Had some time on YouTube last night trying to figure this out but not sure the scans match what is playing ? the good sp-1 mix with piano had red, yellow and WD scans the other lesser mix without piano had scan on WD

    When was the connection made that this was Jon from Jon and weirdest ? Just listening it doesn’t even sound like same person. just answered my own question. Seen his name on the label.

    Just watched this and enjoyed it. I think it needs some kind of 1 episode prequel to explain some of the subject content. friends have enjoyed it and thought it wasn’t very good in equal measure so it a marmite show.

    Very similar story here left with boxes of great cheap records but the higher priced are mostly gone. Hearing them for the first time and tracking them down was great but over the years they have slowly been moved on. If money we’re no object I would have kept them all but that wasn’t an option for me. i do see some things now fetching much higher prices than I sold records for but I won’t be alone in that.

    Totally agree with judging and enjoying records on their musical merit as opposed to selling price. But once a cheap easy to obtain record becomes widely popular and everybody can get a copy it won’t set you aside from anybody else who aspires to be a DJ. The best DJs can draw on years of acquired knowledge and developing an ear for the best sounds them mixing up rare and lesser known cheap sounds.

    There are loads of records I don’t know that doesn’t make them unknown. Do research talk to people. i’ll leave this now.

    I never said there weren’t ? I was replying to a post where somebody mentioned unknowns ? there will be loads of great cheap semi known records that get ignored by the masses and mostly played at home or shared via online mixes etc.

    There was an LP box in the supreme drop today if you want to pay for a small logo on a normal record box

    That backs up what I suspected. I don’t remember seeing loads on open market and ad it’s really good it did seem a good price. crazy when you start thinking 1k + is a good price

    Is that about right for turbines ? Maybe it’s not as rare as I thought it was. certainly is a great soul record and far worse sell for more.

    Exactly it’s not always about how good a dancer you are but more how much you are feeling the music.

    Boots and reissues never impacted prices when I was collecting. But it could be playing a part now ?
