wouldn't be very interesting if there were only a few hundred. I sill hear records that are new to me every week. Its a bottomless pit.

they must be the 2 I heard about on the soul grapevine.

I agree with this to a point but still find this kind of thread interesting. Worth discussing IMO. Thomas Bailey on Stone is one i've never seen for sale and think is very rare. But I wouldn't speculate on a number of copies.
  7. the way to go IMO.

    linzy washington on united.
  9. Judy Stokes has a fantastic deep soul flip side.
  10. good heads up just gone in sky plus

i've seen at least 2 copies of the eddie parker on mica go through ebay both in high hundreds of $$. Didn't shify have some / a couple as well ?
  12. willie johnson on vendellas for starters. and i'm with gareth on the betty fikes, the deep side its terrific. I only recently heard the uptempo side and was very dissapointed. It left me cold.
  13. the flip is fantastic and on quality and rarity no suprise at all to see this at nearly 100 quid. uptempo side is pretty good to my ears as well. is this label rarer than the del nita ?

bump good idea it does get out of hand at times.
  15. got the following 3 titles for sale prices in USD. i've graded each side seperate on top 2. Hartfield Bros "Swet somebody / changes we go through" Boola Boola vg++ / Vg+ $150 uptempo side plays lovely no problems. On ballad flip when they hit the high notes there is some light styrene hiss but it doesn't distract from enjoyment and doens't hiss continully. Mr Percolator "I can't get enough / come on ack to me" Wax Wel vg+ / vg $500 of his 3 on the label this is the one I just haven't seen for sale in all my time looking for his tracks and the other 2 seem very common in comparison. Its got a lot of surface marks but the the crackes are very well in the background on the uptempo side. The pace and loudness of the recording hide it to a large extent. The deep side with open arrangement does suffer a bit from pops and crackles but is still an ejoyable listen. Jimmie Raye "Walked on, stepped on / philadelphia dawg" KKC Vg++ (clean) $200 very minor surface marks here and plays perfect. Plenty of legs in this one WOSO is fantastic IMO and deserves more recognition. I've not seen too many of these in recent years possibly a rare one ? no offers. cheers, dylan
  16. turned out fairly well in the end. Hope you tie up the few loose ends to get this mess fully sorted.
  17. if its a local chancer commiting what he thinks is a petty car crime they may end up on Bulwell market on Friday ? if its somebody on the scene then more than likely they will come unstuck trying to offload them. sorry to hear this it stinks.
  18. will be interesting to see how much next ebay copy sells for.....
  19. I would think for the record you'd have to pay quite a bit more than this. I don't know about acetate prices althouhg i personally value them less unless it is unissued and it did sound pretty crackly to me on the mp3.
  20. bump for sunday readers.
  21. i'm just getting the full show option now. what is the in parts version ? does this put markers so you can skip between tracks ? don't think 'll be able to get in parts in the next 24 hours if i've read the site right.
  22. Doc Oliver on HOLD.
  23. 1 more to add James Knight & Butlers "baby please pretty please" Cat 200UK ex for the play surface but see note below rare record just sold on ebay for $580. presed slightly off centre so a bit of care needed when queing up but plays prefect. I think a few are like this. Fantastic laid back 70s sound prehaps about to have its day ? dylan
  24. 6 records for sale here Hartfield Bros "Sweet somebody / changes we go through" Boola Boola 100UK SS plays perfectly, changes has light styrene noise when vocals hit the hgih notes but its nothing to intrusive and still vey enjoyable. Light marks on both sides nothing deep so grades vg ++ / vg + Passions "Time is a natural / what am I to do" Cylyn 150UK Time is a bit like a failked motown record to me. Gilr group with horns and big drums in backing. What am I to do sounds far better to me and could work on todays floors ? a more mid tempo track with a touch more class. vg++ light marks NAP. Rare record i think ? Doc Oliver "Going through a change of love" Lucky Labels 100UK WOW !!! what a barnstormer of a 45 this is. rarely hear it played out and its just awesome messy northern. Only visually graded vg- lots of surface marks but plays very well after a bit of crackle on intro. This is all over before track gets going and not realy that noticeable. i think for M- i'd be looking at trying to get 250 / 225 may be wrong ? Shppard Bros "Messing with my mind / hold me closer" Gaye 125UK Collectable georgia label. Messing is that blend of funk and soul that I like. Hold me closer is a god deep soul side. Grades M- visdually plays as it was made but its a budget press so perfect production. I guess they must all be like this ? George Freeman "Down and out" Valiant 125UK well knwon beat ballad on purple issue seems cheap to me. vg++ Baby Dave Grenlee "We need love / bout my babys love" Steel City 150UK 2 great mid tempo sides of real quality. Grade M- thanks for looking.
  25. never said it wasn't not sure how my reply reads but to me it reads like i'm agreeing with you. its a different mix I just wasn't sure it sounded fresher that was all.
