I occasionally scan ebay and just this year one of my top wants from about 10 years ago has sold twice for far less than i would have paid back then. and then i'm also amazed at how much some records sell for. so seems illogical but still plenty of fun to be had collecting now imo.

Was watching this on eBay and a vg copy just sold for almost 400 dollars it's a great 45 but I was a bit surprised to see it sell for that much. whats general opinion on here. same seller also had the Ronnie Mitchell version which sold for much less.

I agree with this up to a point. but you can't polish a turd. some records will sound bad where ever you listen to them.

see petes post I quoted he expalined it. if you want to put a buy it now price it has to be 40% higher than your start price which either makes your buy it now price too high or your start price to low. unless you don't mind the risk of something selling cheaper than you want.

that 40% rule is a pain in the arse

thats my perception of things as well. If people are getting high prices for records they are few and far between. Its getting realy hard to sell records even at fair prices. I sold nothing of my last list on here if that same list with same prices went out 18 or 24 months ago a good few would have sold.

as well as other versions there are songs that sound very similar but with other titles. I agree on the jamaican versions bob i'm sure i've got one on a tape somewhere and I imagine there will be a few others as well....
