  1. that would be a nice way to own it.
  2. What is the current valuation on this ? my guess woulde be around 70 to 100GBP baby cakes to me is what northern soul should be banging uptempo 60s and the deep flip is a masterpiece.

DJ Shadow played or raved about it it so a lot of kids who follow him and his sounds wanted it.
  4. I might (probably) have it. I asked as I suspected it might also be a cover. Now I need to go looking......
  5. sean what do you think to "gone for good" I actually think its the better side. also is that his own song or is that also a cover ?
  6. I have "thats how it is" it basically a cover version of an Otis Clay song but is very good. The other side "gone for good" is fantastic deep soul. I picked this up on the strength of Ray Quarles on the label and was pleased when I heard it. RQ is the better of the 2 IMO and now seems to be getting some attention. I think there are a few other ncie things on the label but i've not got them yet.
  7. I don;t hear similarities in the 2 step I know and the deep funk I know. Musically they are very different ?
  8. I like records that fit into the 2 step category I find it very soulful and well produced. I only have a small selection of these sounds but for value for money its a great genre to explore.
  9. wow your postage rates is a longer list than the record sales. marlena shaw "without you in my life" is a fantastic track and well worth getting this LP for.
  10. slightly off topic but 7th Ave Aviators is one of the first records that realy got me into northern soul its brilliant.
  11. Safest way would be to pay on collection. No danger that way.
  12. the tempo on KW is actually pretty similar to the side that has had northern soul attention so i'm a bit suprised the flip hasn't as well TBH. First mention for 7th Ave Aviators as well don't temember seeing that yet.

I just had a quick look at Johns site and noticed that John henry also did a version of "let them talk" as well so he did enjoy doing covers.
  14. The flip of kenny wells on dynovoice is a great ballad.

he did a song called "love is not a stranger" I think the label was amber antique its a nice deep soul track is "who am I" a version of the famous flames ?
  16. its not so strange if he was offered a lot of money.
  17. classic example of a record where the current price defies any kind of logic. I paid 50 quid for a copy sold it for 75 or 80 about a year later and thought I had done quite well. that doc oliver thing sounds interersting his 45 on lucky labels is brilliant uptempo but quite messy so an aquired taste.

sorry I forgot to update list now added sold comment next to record you asked about. Its an old list and everybody has probably seen it now but all others listed are still available offers always welcome.
  19. I think it might be.
  20. a bit late here but still worth a few smiles :D great find bob.
  21. I knew this a long time before burnley and lots of others did as well. I didn't go to burnley but from what you say they were brave enough to play these great records and I would have probably enjoyed dancing to some of the DJ sets.
  22. it certainly is a tangled web with his releases.
