one day when the price gets low enough pep brown version is also great but very different.
  2. not if you pay from a bank account then no fees for either person. the above is only right if you are paying by credit card.
  3. I listed 5 records this week to raise some of the money for yearly servicing our 2 family cars. 2 of them were sold within 30 mins of going up on here and one more sold a day after listing so I think things are still pretty vibrant. 3 out of 5 ain't bod IMO. I did go in at what I thought were low end or at least fair prices as I wanted quick sales. but no interest in the buddy mcknight ? which was a bit of a suprise
  4. crikey so you and Ian were both selling 45s for Tim
  5. paypal must have added it though because it wasn't always an option was it ? but I agree can't see it lasting forever as more and more people are onto it now.

I think you got a bargain as well
  7. yes its good not sure if it works between all countries though ? and buyer needs to pay from a bank account not by a credit card. If its by credit card buyer gets option on who pays the fees they can choose themselves or the seller.
  8. Eldridge Holmes now also sold. 2 down 2 to go......
  9. thanks for adding clip you need some energy to dance to this one.
  10. 4 for sale Richard Cook "Somebody got to help me / love is so mean" Tragar 150GBP half the book price due to some label damage. Pictures can be supplied to those interested. Vinyl is Ex and both sides play with no problems. Flip side is good deep soul. Uptempo side a good thumpting dancer with great horn by Billy Stewart who played with buddy cantrell on his tuska etc etc. Buddy McKnight "Baby baby / i've got to move" Pine Hills 250GBP Ex This seems to be a very very rare release. I've never seen another and baby baby has got right ingredients to be a northern spin. i've got to move is a hard minimal funk track. Matt Finewine used to play it. Some might even call this an unknown ? Roy Roberts "You move me" House Of The Fox 40GBP Ex SOLD. cracking little 45 this one. Eldrdge Holmes "Lets go steady / an open letter to my heart" Kansu 125GBP Ex One of his harder to find releases with a great ctachy uptempo side and good deep soul flip Steve Plumb recomends playing this along with TJ Williams it has a similar vibe thanks for looking

Don't realy want it to be a now much will they be worth thread. bob for example. Was it something you got into because your parents liked and you heard it whilst growing up it or did you discover it yourself ?

are children of todays collectors and DJs goig to be the future of the soul scene ? are they going to inherit the collections and the love of the music from their parents. my first interest was due to my dad talking about the late 60s and early 70s soul scene. Shame he doesn't have any rare records but never mind he certainly lit the spark for me and got my interest in all this. He was more into general club soul and motown but it was his stories about the dancing, clothes and clubs that got me wanting to find out more. I know i'd like my kids to grow up liking soul music and would love for my modest collection to be passed down the family. They are certainly having to listen to enough of it whilst gorwing up but who knows.....
  22. JW is one of my fave uptempo oldies so i'm a little biased in my view. However good it is though i'd be happy to hear it played by a DJ at a venue without realy needing to own the actual 45. Not unless I found it cheapish I would rather have 3 or 4 great deep soul records for that kind of money.
  23. MWL is fantastic first heard this on a tape frank from derby did for me and very soon after I baught a copy. In fact literally every track on that tape went onto my wants list. Found virtually all of them since. I'm sure just after this tape frank did also offer me a copy of "for the rest of my life" but at the time it was way over my budget and I didn't know it well enough to spoend bif money on it. I think it was about half what people are quoting as todays value.
