Who's been your favourite record label this year?
In a time when records were said to be dead, there has been extraordinary folk who have kept the love alive. these guys search the volts tielessly to fill our addiction, and bring us new sounds. so who's been you favourite labels of the year? Favourite....... for me there can only be one, Cannonball Records. Five tracks this year, and one that will probably become a classic. Alberto I salute you, and all the hard work you and your crew go to to bring us these lost gems joint runners up........ i couldn't split these two, Super Disco Edits, and Colemine Records. Russ and Terry, continue to bring us quality tunes from the past, and present respectively, and i thank you chaps for your time and effort alan

Favourite.....Juno records for me are everything i want from an online service, wide choice, decent price, up to date, and a service anyone would be proud of runner up........ Top Dog Records have open my eyes this year to many a track i wouldn't normaly be looking for, and i thank Dave for that, a great guy these are my top two, whats yours? alan

if you haven't all ready, you'll need one of these in your life before they all go .............. "Another demo tape recently discovered by Family Groove Records. **Hand Stamped limited edition of 300 copies.Hall & Floyd’s previously unreleased 1981 session is a nice slice of Disco Funk & R&B that didn’t make the major label cut. Sunrise is the stand-out song featuring a nice blend of Earth Wind & Fire style harmonies, funky horns, spaced-out Moog Synth and a righteous groove good enough to properly fuel your next Roller Skating party." Give all the tracks a listen............. https://www.juno.co.uk/products/hall-floyd-sunrise/628637-01/

when is enough a enough
Can you have to much music? Can you own to many records, CD's, Downloads, what ever it may be? A question i've been asking myself of late, "will there ever be a time when i'll get to listen to it all ?". Many a time i forget what i've got till i go through it. When is enough a enough?

"In the late 1960's, Neftali Santiago's family bought their first home in Willingboro, New Jersey at 22 Somerset Drive. Here he would learn to play the drums and honed his skills, which landed him a spot as the drummer and a singer/ songwriter in Mandrill, one of the most diverse funk bands of all time. In 1975, Santiago took a hiatus from the band and returned home to start a new project. Though he would return to Mandrill in 1978, between the years of 1975 and 1978 Santiago recorded an album's worth of material that has largely been unreleased until now. Under the moniker Santiago, Neftali and the talented multi-arranger Joe Byrne recorded four tracks, two of which landed on the band's first single in 1975. Despite the limited success of the band's only single, Neftali's manager secured high profile tours with The Ohio Players and Gil-Scott Heron. After moving across the country, Neftali started new bands (the Santiago Band, Santiago & Friends, and Neftali’s Beast) and kept recording, though nothing came of the tracks except the mysteriously bootlegged “Bionic Funk” 45 in the late 70’s. Though Neftali’s solo career came to an end in 1978 when he rejoined Mandrill, he left a treasure trove of unreleased funk tracks that are sure to please fans of Parliament/ Funkadelic, Boosty Collins, Sly & The Family Stone, and 70’s rare groove. Manufactured Recordings is proud to present Santiago’s complete recordings for the first time ever." https://neftalisantiago.bandcamp.com/album/22-somerset-dr-1976-1978
