First place I heard sounds such as Detroit Sounds Of Friction, ( which has stood the test of time ) and Larom Baker , You 're The Best on the lovely titled The Record Comapny. Have toyed with the idea of covering this venue in a history of modern soul clubs along with the more established bastions as it was innovative at the time loking back in hindsight... No he did not have 80s 45s before anyone else lots of collectors out there have material he brags about owning we just keep stum..buying them when they came out not when someone decrees these are rare !!..

Like Chris found loads of these never sold for more than £5 never mind £30 good luck to the happy seller !! All other Sandman 45s are worth collecting Hi Fi White s Bulldog and Mckinley Sandifer ' s deep soul 45.

Looking at the last weeks completed prices for common albums eg : Thriller, Bad and Off the Wall from a stupid £100 up to £500 - the ebay market is hot !! I know of one dealer who checked his emails Saturday morning and had over 300 buy it now orders for MJ related 45s/ lps / 12s - WTF !! Not much interest until he died.. Timing ha - sold a box of 50 of his 45s around six months back - thought they wouldnt sell at 99p each so got rid cheap . Only had Off The Wall lp left sold for £22 last weekend - all my previous sales for this were 79p 99p £1.25 . Go figure .

Patches a 1982 release . The label was owned by Lamar Thomas out of NEW York. He had Patrick Adams as a engineer - they are long time friends in the music scene. Always been a scarce 45 never really played out since a new release. The group never issued any other material , unless someone knows otherwise....

Was originally released on Beam Junction a New York label.- 1976 45 and 12" - a very obscure twelve to loctae as usa collectors seek as well. Was amassive spin in Mecca days late 70's , so pretty well known IMHO.

Only approx 10 of these imported into uk by Mike Ward back in early 80s. Always hard to locate - sold mine for £550 around 18 months ago to JAPAN. IMHO its priced way too cheap !! A seriously obscure 45 not picked up on by the cheque book charlie Djs really.

pete, Maybe helps - I don 't hold 100% faith in Goldmine's R & B value guide but 2002 edition rated it at $100 NM. Suppose you could double that in 2009 . Never seen one when searching popsike or collectors frenzy - only the uk issues.
