I think Danny paid for TR's cab (taxi) to be fixed at the garage :-). i remeber him calling me fron New Orleans and wanting a few record dealers phone numbers. He found the shrine 45's in a cabinet at the back of book shop while in looking for a book to read for the flight home. Seem to remember one of cairos was cracked the good one went to gary spencer. News: The Greatest Record Finds Of All Time 2008
Great stories and i got a few myself but i'll be a bit more upto date. What you got through the computer :-) records wise lol. About 12 years ago i was sitting at work and bored sh*tless, i decided to search a few writers/artists names on google and see what i find. After about an hour i tracked a backing singer of a certain detroit 6ts soul act, sent an email and over the next few weeks of banter i secured the following. Utopias (5 copies), Camero's, Gwen Owens (wanted and needed), Pat lewis (no one to love), Magictones (solid hit missing number) etc. Its was unreal but deffo my greatest hit and i didn't even have to leave my desk lol. Happy days indeed. Greg

Call out for dancers / original Northern Soul fans
Hi Russ Remember the days when people cared about the Scene, the hardcore element of the 8ts and 9ts plus 2000's. We were there and many more like us on here, i know who you are and what you stand for Russ.....you got my 100% support and agree totally with everything you said above. The Scene is dead long live the scene, well as we all once knew it. Theres alot of illness out there as Carl Fortnum once said lol Greg

Pied Piper - Follow Your Soul - Kent Cd - Out Now
I'm afraid you are correct in most cases, i suggested on an earlier post some days ago that dj's should get tracks cut. Where not talking about the so called elite but the grass routes dj's, the ones that keep the scene going in the small club up and down the country. I agree it would give fresh tunes to the dancefloor, some of the Piper tracks are actually released on vinyl from Ace, so no need to get cut ( if required). Remember it all depends on the so called DJ's agenda, entertain the dancefloor with a nice mix or just entertain the few people rubbing there chins in the corner. There is also a positive reaction needed by the dancers, this is always not forcoming at lots of events until they get there top 500. Greg (ex Capitol Soul Club and 100club).

News: Soulbowl
Ah brings me back when i'd be trying to call him early and he would never answer lol. I Bought so many records from Soul Bowl in the 8ts and 9ts. I remember getting the list one morning and walking up the Goldhawk Road, on my way to the tube station. Got to the platform and opened up the list and there it was Otis Lee for £25! right thats it ran up the stairs, f*ck the train and out the door to the phone box. Got through after it been engaged and said Hi its Greg in London and have you still got Otis Lee, yup got that for ya, how many do you want??? i bought 7 copies and sold them on to my mates....of course i stuck an extra fiver on top :-) . Those were the days....Anita Anderson, Gary Dean, Nat Hall, Sept. Jones, Shamettes etc etc. Top Bloke! just don't call before opening times. Greg

100 Club Saved! ...by Converse?
Great news indeed. I just hope everyone at the 100club has the foresight to use the brand converse correctly and not sit back. Limited edition trainers and 100 club converse t-shirts/bags etc...blimey the sales in the states/japan alone would keep the club open for years. Also the adverts on telly could be filmed at the 100club and done in adidas retro style (ex Dee edwards) but keeping it cool with the kids. Jeff get that merchandice machine moving matey. Greg
