  12. 1979 - St Ives All-nighters were already closed by local council / drug squad 1979 - The Fleet Peterborough All-nighters maybe not sure if the Embankment was still running then as well ?

Guest martyn Posted June 14, 2010 I only ever heard this played at EASC allnighters from late 76 / 77 right into the early 80s - not saying it never got plays away from St Ives & Peterborough , its just I don't recall hearing it any where else...........I know Hammie used to play it & (I think ) John Vincent used to spin it too .
  14. Blast from the past at St Ives all-nighters - Ginger / Soul Sam canโ€™t remember ever hearing this at the Casino although I mostly went to the oldies nights - maybe just an East Coast thing always wondered who discovered it and played it first ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

In these present days of gloom - itโ€™s good to look back on something positive in our / my past / youth and growing up - great memories At 2 am on Sunday 23 September 1973, Wigan Casino started its first-ever Northern soul all-nighter, with Winstanley as the DJ. After Winstanley and his helper Ian Fishwick, Kev Roberts was the third DJ at Casino all-nighters, who was quickly joined by Richard Searling[4] Soul performers that performed there include Jackie Wilson, Edwin Starrand Junior Walker.
