Anybody help?
I have just received delivery from the states a record which was over $200, I wont name the record or the dealer involved, I bought it as VG+ no other description on the record from the dealer.
It has cue burn on both sides on intro also plays with crackles throughout both sides and has quite a few scuff marks, ( I say both sides as both recordings are excellent tracks).
I am a bit dissapointed to say the least, what would you do send it back or was the term VG+ a fair grading?

Wigan Casino IMVHO was the most important venue past and present on our scene, ok the purists might say that a lot of "pop tunes" were played out at the latter part of the seventies, but it was groundbreaking in its music policy at the time, how many venues nowadays are open week in week out and have attendances which on a bad day was over a thousand?
There was so many sounds broken at Wigan(far too many to mention) if the casino never opened its doors our scene would not be as it is today.
But I also think it fair to mention other venues after the casino which were also as important, Stafford and the 100 club....

I think the main issue here is the fact that James took a record off halfway through another djs spot, personally IMO that is totally arrogant and if it happened to me there would be WW3, but i also think if there is an issue over a record sort it out between yourselves, why do it on a public forum.
Steve
the one thing that makes me cringe is someone ( e.g non soulie) coming up to me saying can you play "the snake" its not soul its pop music, why do people associate it with northern soul because its not its an embarassment to our scene.. IMHO
Thanks RANT OVER

Defo try the Red Light Bar, but do try the coffee shop below first, they also sell some wonderful herbs
Try some White Widow or AK47 but mind the steps when you leave( if you can see them)
Another good bar is the Bulldog bar, sack the sightseeing you can do all that when you get a bit older!!
Have a good trip
