Comedy Sale Of The Day
That's apparently what Question Mark sang it as at his live gigs - or that one of the lyrics sounded like that, causing it to be banned (I know it's one of those, but not sure which).

Jackie Day "before It's Too Late" Yellow Modern
I agree - it looks like a normal red label issue with some camera flash glare making it look yellow. Just don't want you to build your hopes up, only to be disappointed.

Eusebio Buying Records 1968 - Fantastic Photo
Great pic, but wouldn't the Club Ska '67 LP date this pic at 1967 at the earliest?

Newbeats.....'crying My Heart Out'.....'non Grata' These Days?
Followed by the piano break (intro) building into a final crescendo - love it.

Rare Soul Deejay Butch 1991 Yarmouth
If that was the pub near Paddington / Bayswater, then I believe Greg's parents ran it. Used to knock about with Greg and his brother Joe in the early '80s.

Newbeats.....'crying My Heart Out'.....'non Grata' These Days?
"Too Sweet To Be Forgotten", which I believe was also booted on US Hickory.

Record Stylus For Normal Record Players
Believe it or not, there are quite a few inferior copies of styli on Ebay (I bought a copy of an Audio Technica stylus I needed for half the normal price, and it was terrible) - so be careful when buying them on Ebay. Only go for styli advertised as the genuine article.

Manships Auction Rsults 16 -1 - 2013
I thought the Showstoppers test pressing went a bit cheaply, considering what it is.

Very Unusual Version Of Rock Steady
Here's an even more unusual version of "Rock Steady" (OK, I'll get my coat):

Tempests - Would You Believe - Smash Lp
Well...........30 years on, and the demand or price still hasn't abated!

Liz Lands R.I.P
I would concur with Pete on that. I have a copy of "Come & Get These Memories" by Martha & The Vandellas on the arrow-design label (originally released in 1962?), so records like this must have remained on catalogue for a few years after their initial release. "Fingertips" by Little Stevie Wonder on the no-globes Tamla label also springs to mind.

Why Do We Dislike Al Wilson's The Snake So Much?
And probably because most of them think the lyrics in the first verse relate to a "pretty coloured skinhead".

Answering Wants
Is it, though? The cynic within me says no.

Answering Wants
I'm very selective on the wants ads I respond to. If I have something, and I feel that they are genuine (sometimes quite easy to get that vibe), then I'll get in touch. It's not at all often I do respond, but the one ad I responded to recently did result in a very happy, smooth transaction. Generally, I find a sizeable amount of people who post wants ads either lack the good manners to respond, or are just daydreamers, freeloaders or tyre-kickers, and that's why I don't go out of my way to help the majority of wants, if I have what they want.

Keb's Top Ten 60's Newies 22Nd September 1984
Here's some from memory of spots and tapes. Hope these are obscure enough, and not the more common of his sounds (cover-up titles, where known, are in brackets): Royal 5 - My Baby Cares For Me (Cobra) ("Open Your Eyes I'll Be There - The Fenways) Roy Wright - Hook, Line & Sinker (Mica) (Billy Lee & The Crash Sound) James Bowens - Baby I Want You (Roosevelt Lee) (George Jefferson) The Revlons - (Oh, Oh, Oh) What A Love This Is (Toy) William Cummings - Make My Love A Hurting Thing (Bang Bang) Blue Steam - I Want A Girl (Catamount) ("I Need A Girl" - George Hobson) The Naturals - Don't Just Stand There (Path) King George - So Long Johnny / Uh-Oh (RCA) (one side, not sure which, covered as "Wartime Breakdown" - Syng McGowan) Andy Fisher - A Wee Bit Longer / My Heart's Beatin' Stronger (Fat Fish) (both sides covered as Earl Jackson) Freda Payne - On Easy Street (MGM LP track) Dynamic Three - You Said Yeah (Del Val) ("She Said Yeah" - The Agents) Honey & The Bees - Be Yourself (Academy) (The Sharpettes) Kenny Rossi - Don't Lose This Love (Arctic) Buddy Smith - When You Lose The One You Love (Brute) The Strands - The Breeze From The Trees (Tarx) The Persianettes - Run Run (Unissued Swan acetate) ("You Better Get Away" - Azie Mortimer) The Turbines - We Got To Start Over (Cenco)

I think I know the one you mean, John. Not sure if that's the one though.................

Answering Wants
Was "Dream World" by Don Downing on his wants list? He certainly seemed to be living in one.

Hollywood Records
Wow - didn't think "House of Broken Hearts" by Hal Hardy was released as late as 1967! Always guessed at '64 - '65.
-
Melba Moore - Magic Touch
It was one of the unreleased tapes Ady Croasdell brought back from his trip to the States in Autumn 1984.

You sure did Mal - and an excellent choice, on a lesser-seen white demo!

Keb's Top Ten 60's Newies 22Nd September 1984
Hi Dave, Good to hear from you! Yep - all is well thanks! How's things at your end? That's right - I remember that Grays Inn Buildings was a squat (probably the reason I never went!), so I'm hoping that will jog a few memories and prompt people to post some. Yours are a good starter, so thanks for those! Must try to get to see you at SHS sometime soon. Apparently, it remained a squat until the early 2000s - it's now been completely refurbished and rented out as social housing by One Housing Group. When Mike Leigh tried to use it as a filming location for "Vera Drake", he was met with resistance and hounded out by the some of the last people there! Here's how it looks now.
