As first one for a while, bit of a rambling thing as takes in event and more Yep, 6 months on and it was back to the Springfield, a long time coming, enjoyable feeling? Well not till about 9pm to be honest, the run in to this was not entirely trouble free (see elsewhere for background)after a exyended gap and problems with dates, clashes and all sorts of stuff, have to say was a slight element of doubt creeping in to the run up to this one. Anyway things fell together and on a sun

A quick word to pass onto all members that the DMSC June Event at Springfield Hotel is cancelled. As we finding out we are often at the mercy of other peoples planning, in this case it appears have fell victim to a double booking, all we say is that we are certain that our planning was on the ball. Due to the short nature of the timings, we first offer apoligies, again it seems it is out of our hands, and also ask for all members to spread the word. All other dates for 2003 are still 100%

For info Llandudno Soul Nites and Bangor Soul At the Social both these regular monthly events are coming under the DMSC banner, no big thing its just to make life easy for all concerned and as far as Soul At Social goes it will make no difference at all with Johnny J still doing the event his own way (and all Donkey work!) Its just for easy promotion, keep costs down and as the DMSC is all about punter friendly and quality soul, it will work well and should improve you

Here you go the last one, the playlist from the guest DJ for the nite, top man Ian Cunliffe. Thats the whole nite covered now! As always thanks to all the djs taking time and effort in passing on their playlists, to me stuff like this always appreciated as gives such a insight to the nite to both those who attended and those that are just interested in the current scene. And as such has gotta be a good thing! Nothing to unusual or obscure just 100% rare northern soul to keep the dancers dancing

Had such an amazing night last night , felt the need to spread the love and share it with anyone that likes to read stuff like this. Long ago in the times of 60's and 70's you could venture down town into Manchester City center and have your pick of the clubs , Rafters ,Tiffs , Caroline's to name but three and basically experience "soul" without really thinking too much about it, you were guaranteed a great night wherever you went , the crowd then were people just out for a good time, no atten
