The Ebony Affair TV Show - Videos Now Available

The Ebony Affair TV Show - Videos Now Available cover

Hi...I thought that this might interest quite a few of you on here. I had 2 clips of The Delfonics uploaded on my channel but after a while I received a polite message to take them down by the rightful owner John Jackson. (He is the president of WJEJ Productions and owner of The Ebony Affair Show. He sent me his e-mail so I messaged him to say sorry and thank you for getting in touch without putting a claims report into youtube who would have given me a strike.

A couple of weeks later he actually mailed back and said would I be kind enough to drop by on his youtube channel and see what I think of it? I was surprised to see that he has started to share his rare clips from The Ebony Affair Show.

Many artists appeared on this such as Bettye Swann, Tommie Young, The Modulations, Edwin Starr, Detroit Emeralds, The Invitations, The Temprees, Baby Washington, Betty Wright, The Moments plus a lot more. John Jackson has said he has over 400 clips and that he is looking for investors to put the television series on air? or maybe someone who has the sources could talk him into putting them on to dvds for the public to buy?

Anyway here is the link were you can see

1. Tommie Young - Do you still feel the same way,

2. Modulations - Worth your weight in gold,

3. Jeannie Reynolds - The phones been jumping all day,

4. Modulations - I'm hopelessly in love

Back in 1975, this show was broadcast in many areas down the US east coast. It seemed to depend on whether the local Pepsi supplier would book ads for the spot as to whether it got shown on a particular TV stn or not.

Loads of soul music TV shows were made locally back in the mid 60's to mid 70's but most of these are now lost to us as the tapes were destroyed soon after their broadcast date. EBONY AFFAIR is a rare exception (along with Soul Train, Soul, The Beat, etc.) and it seems there are more actual footage of the original shows still in existence than info on them.
